Hello again,
Has anyone out there worked out the wisdom scores of reds?
Reason I ask is this:
I made a falchion last night that does 2 wis dmg on crit. With improved crit I should crit 30% of the time. So I swing 10 times at a boss.. add in the 50% chance of glancing blow ... 15 hits. Out of which 5 ish should crit. That's 10 wisdom dmg.. on haste I recon that's about 3 seconds work
Even if a boss has 20 wisdom it should all be over in about 6 seconds (first time to be proud of that!)
However, it did occur to me that reds may be given hatful of wis just to counter such an approach.
Anyone?

Bosses tend to regenerate stat damage (and negative levels, if they are even vulnerable to them) too fast to make this a worthwhile approach. Maybe others will have different advice, but that's been my experience.

This may have changed so someone can step in and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe red name have partial stat damage immunity. I think the number was they can take up to 10 stat damage, after that no effect. I also believe they regenerate stat damage at a higher rate, but that may very well be incorrect.

glancing blows have a heavily reduced chance of proccing weapon effects, and also dont crit. so including gbs in your estimation of how many hits you are/should be proccing this wis damage with are very off base.

Yep, still limited to 10 points - certainly doesn't hurt to give a boss -5 to will saves though :)
Its a good idea to add wisdom (or charisma? can't remember which) damage to an ooze beater though, as iirc they only have 1 in the score to begin with so a single crit will render them helpless & get you the damage boost.
