Lammania client won't finish updating.

Tried replacing with backup and re-updating.
Tried running as administrator.
Tried deleting client_gamelogic.dat
Tried replacing client_gamelogic.dat
Tried running a second instance while first instance was bugged.
Tried uninstalling and re-installing.
Edit:
Tried deleting client_general.dat
Tried replacing client_general.dat
Nothing works.


Errors:

Unable to decrypt and de-serialize the data downloaded from the server.

Game Error [201]
Can't open the data files. Check that they exist and that you have permission to write to them. The program will now exit. [201]

I'm also getting: "Unable to decrypt and de-serialize the data downloaded from the server" but at a slightly different download stage I think. Possibly the servers aren't fully functional with the correct patches. Else it possibly could be another .Net Framework revision issue.

Possibly because the root folder is still TURBINE and not SSG, apart from that I have the same problem

Due to the number of issues encountered in the build process last night a number of fixes/changes that we thought would be in the current Lammania are not currently (Such as the Reaper Tree UI not listing your current Reaper Experience and the amount needed for the next Reaper Point, Reaper Tier 5 enhancements causing lockout of the other Reaper Trees tier 5's, and being able to spend Reaper Points into the negatives). In addition, we are aware that there is an issue with the patching via the launcher that some players are encountering which is preventing them from updating Lammania. We are currently in the process of assessing the possibility of updating the preview build with those changes that should have already been in it and working towards a resolution of the patching issue. We'll keep you posted.

I love how they release lammania for such a short amount of time then half of the people cannot get on to test the stuff that in my opinion is ruining this game. I hope that the time of lammania gets extended again so we can all get a chance to test it.

I can get multiple tier 5s? That's 400 extra hp if I add all the Reaper trees. Holy Power Creep. I'll be stronger in 1 skull than elite. 550 hp in Korthos level 1.

Are they going to fix the problem or leave it as it is.Would like to have some kind of information as to whether or not the problem will be resolved.

The problem still continues with the launcher. And still no fix for the problem. and still no answer from the Devs.

Yep just retried and I got the same message I also was just going to test reaper in a way i can do on live whenever it is released

I was having this issue too, but I managed to fix it by re-downloading the Lamannia client, YMMV.

It doesn't actually say that anyone is getting in, just that some people are not, it also does not say anything about what any of those alleged people are doing that our own systems are not, are you able to get in or just having fun pointing folk to a post that doesn't tell anyone anything they dont already know?

Downloaded the install files and tried with a fresh install, still not getting in and still getting the error message, looks like I hope this version doen't make it to live or else I am paying for a game that might not work.

Doing a fresh install against my better judgment,but willing to give it a try. Hope it will work. But at the pace the install is running and if i get in not sure how much playing time I will get. And If it does not let's hope they do mot go live wit this rhe way it is or there will be a lot of very mad paying customers

We are continuing to work on it. Resolving this issue is taking longer than expected.

uninstall reinstall and finally made it in not going to get much playing time being they will shut down friday oh well

Same problem here. Tried a reinstall with no success. The log is showing something about specifying a username though. Don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Since an official workable solution or workaround hasn't been provided by a Standing Stone Games (SSG) representative with the relevant technical know-how, nor in-depth explanation of what could be causing the current Lamannia DDO client error or advice other than: sit tight, we are trying to isolate the problem and perhaps attempt to create a patch. I thus decided to fully uninstall Lamannia.

After a full reinstallation [14-hours re-downloading...] it has appeared to resolve the issue. Leading me to believe some of the *.dat files residing on the server at some stage might have been in a malformed state but that's just a wild uneducated guess. Hopefully, this "issue" won't resurface in the next official DDO release and SSG continue striving towards fixing the current problem (because clearly some people still cannot access Lamannia even after a reinstall). That is less than an ideal scenario, i.e. people not being able to to Login - through no fault of their own, etc.

Since it was indicated prior, SSG was trying the resolve the issue. Hopefully, they can provide a functional solution (before this preview session of Lamannia is once again closed/shutdown) that doesn't involve a reinstall in future. However, with all the current; comedy, commotion and flamewars regarding "Reaper mode" on the DDO forums. I personally wouldn't be surprised if the Developers are a little tied-up at the moment and unfortunately a solution for the error "Unable to decrypt and de-serialize the data downloaded from the server" won't materialise until after Lamannia is closed once again.

it has started downloading where previously i got the error message, fingers crossed but likely too late now anyway, i haven't done any more to this install than re-try launching for maybe the 8th time so looks suspiciously like turbine/ssg maybe had to fix something at their end.


Scratch that, it just went wonkly again.

Tried this again but now wont connect to update server for past 24 hours, you closed Lamma shortly after advising folk to re-install?

Jerry, the file currently residing at location [http://content.turbine.com/sites/clientdl/ddo/preview/ddopreview.exe] (as per your quoted post) is the exact same file that was there in the past, several days ago I believe... :-/

It looks like the same historic file that was there prior to the latest Lamannia preview its MD5 checksum: e50410ef3ab3bdbb5febc3626bb5f3f9 is identical.

So I suspect; either somebody hasn't uploaded a more modern (Lamannia Client) file to the server or your URI link is inaccurate, i.e. outdated. Or were you just meaning they should attempt a clean reinstall of the client via that specific file?

Furthermore it appears that when your colleague, Cocomajobo - I believe? - hit the terminate Lamannia server switch, he also shutdown access to the patch Server (instead of just closing the Lamannia world access).

Therefore should anybody be still wanting try and reinstall the Lamannia Client (during the period between the next future preview opening) they're going to be out of luck. :-(

Any official feedback would be good on this, as currently from my perspective, it appears there hasn't been any change of file on the server and the said patch server is currently inaccessible in shutdown state. :-)

I am having the whole decrypt and de-serialize issue happening with Lamm. I have attempted everything I know to do. Reinstall, drop virus programs, etc.

Also, aggravatingly, every time I attempt to load Lamm and once I shut the window down it is resetting my High Resolution Game Data and I am losing UI Settings/Key Layout/Audio/Game Settings all defaulted. I have redid it 3 times today.


I'd really like to check out FVS before they go live.
