Do they constantly bark like the NPC one in Korthos Village? If so, is there a way to turn that off? I think it would annoy the heck outta me; to the point of potentially forgoing the class. :(

I hear my dog bark whenever it Intimidates and when breaking boxes. To my knowledge there is no way to turn it off specifically.
