A quick question before I roll my first Barb

Hi guys,

I have been looking about and see that one possible survivability tactic for Barb is to invest in Blood Strength.

With this in mind, would it not be desirable to go TWF over THF to increase the number of hits and therefore heals?

If I am missing something about TWF and THF .. I.e. They carry out the same number of hits.. Please educate me!!

I've played Barbarian with Blood Strength on both THF and TWF. I do think the heals come in a little faster on TWF, but honestly - it's not needed. You get plenty of healing with THF. So go with whichever you enjoy more. I also hear people say the TWF is better single target dps, and THF is better for multi-target dps.

Thanks..that is very useful to know.
I tend to find myself in the middle of large groups of Abashai on a frequent basis... So something that can handle that situation better is going to edge it:)

Now to look at affordable level 7 gear, enhancement placement and a maul or falchion.

Also remember that barbs get an extra AoE (Supreme Cleave) and extra glancing blow dmg from Frenzied Berserker, both of which favor 2H weapons; so that's an incentive for going THF too. Also you only need one set of weapons for THF rather than two; and you don't have to worry about DEX on a THF barb, whereas you need to hit base DEX 17 on a TWF barb. But any melee style works well with barbs, so I agree you should pick the one you prefer.

Oh and one more thing - with THF you get to add 1.5 of your strength modifier to your weapon damage.
