View Full Version : PDK Kensei Tactical Repeater

Heavy xbow repeater build with otto, pin, dire charge and stunning shield cc options. Bonuses to tactics from kensei and feats as well as know the Angles half intellect mod and Cormyrean Knight Training third charisma mod bonus to tactics.

Not sure if its possible to get a viable stunning blow dc as strength stat will be fairly low as must remain below charisma to get the bonus to tactics.

Dps will mostly be from heavy repeater and using quick draw to be able to switch quicker to shield and either short or long sword for stuns when using dire charge and stunning shield.

Dexterity could be dropped by 1 point for 2 more in charisma, but would require taking some feats such as IPS and CA later. Also would need to make adjustments depending on what tomes you have especially concerning dexterity tomes.

Assuming Ive did my calculation correct these are possible tactics with decent gear. Some also can be crafted next update.

So I might considered adding stunning blow, combat expertise and imp trip instead of either dodge, mobility and shot on the run or sup weap focus, toughness and epic toughness

Dire charge 20 + 30 + 75 = 125

You can also add 3 fighter past life and completionist feat for up to another 4.

Forgot to include tomes so add about 2-4 dc

AFAICT, neither CKT nor Strategic Combat apply to shields, which means your shield-bashing to-hit will still be based on STR. No idea how high you need to get it, but considering the only reason you use a shield is Stunning Shield every 30 seconds, you might want to do some testing to figure out your to-hit chance before you commit.

Forgot about that, but did take action boost attack for extra hit with for stunning shield and dire charge. Though its not much of a commitment as only need to change vanguard enhancement with the 3 stun dc is still useful for dire charge.

Might considerer dropping stunning shield if the miss chance is too high. Also, wouldn't mind fitting in magical training and insightful reflexes somewhere. I might try and work out how much stunning blow and improved trip dc's could end up with lower strength build. Would probably mean dropping shot on the run which would free up the feats taken with dodge and mobility for combat exp and imp trip and stunning blow. Superior weapon focus is another feat that could be swapped.

I have a question about your build. I tryed a rogue mech/kensei build focused on great crossbow, but when i get first kensei core enhancement it don't give me any bonus (+1 hit) with great crossbow (i have the exotic weapon proficency feats with great xbow) instead if i equip a light or a heave xbow i got the +1 bonus to hit. Is it the same for you with repeating?

"Kensei Focus: Crossbows: You focus your Kensei training in the use of crossbows. You gain +1 to hit with heavy crossbows, and light crossbows. (The Exotic Weapon Mastery enhancement will add great crossbows and repeating crossbows to this list of weapons.)"
