This guild is what you might refer to as an equal-opportunity guild. All members will be promoted to officer, as soon as I am aware of their presence in the guild. This is primarily to permit anyone to invite friends and alternate characters to the guild (Mail invitations are available after a guild reaches level 5). It also allows players to swap out buffs, at a Hook Point, to use all that are available. The ultimate goal is to build the guild as quickly as possible. The higher-level we attain, the more rewards we will have access to.
The Guild is what we make of it. All of us together. Go out, commit acts of fun Mayhem and Slaughter. Please note that doing dungeons, at or above your level, gives greater guild renown. But make sure it's fun as well.
There are no leveling quotas. We want our guild members to enjoy themselves. We would prefer no one feel obligated to play, if they don't wish to, or just don't have time for a while.
While we understand not having time to play, even for extended periods, we do respectfully request that guild members be sure to log in each of their characters at least once every 4 months, to keep Guild Renown earnings from getting reduced. Characters absent for 6 months will be removed, with the assumption that they have been abandoned. We simply want to avoid being bogged down in characters that are not active. Also to that end, please do not guild your mules, unless you log them in as above.

"Plays Well With Others"?
You will never be forced, by anyone in this guild, to play in a group, if you prefer to play solo. If you need help, please ask whoever else is currently online, by way of the guild chat. Conversely, if a fellow member asks for help, please do so as best you can. But in all cases, please remember; never demand another player to assist you in a dungeon or in chat. It's just bad manners. It's acceptable to require someone to hear voice chat, in order to talk with you. It's not acceptable to demand someone speak, if they prefer to type.
As a member of the guild, you are expected to be considerate and respectful to members and non-members alike. If you are willing and able, please help novices to the game. Recruit them, if they are interested, or if they ask. If you are either unwilling or not able, at least be courteous. This is supposed to be fun. We do not want to discourage new players, whether they join our guild or not. The game only survives as long as the provider is making money.
It must be noted that we are on a trust system here. There is much possible harm an officer can do, that a simple member cannot. Anyone caught abusing their privileges will be ejected from the guild. If you discover a member stealing or otherwise abusing their membership in the guild, please send a message, by Orion Express, to the guild leader or successor. Likewise, please notify us of complaints of inappropriate behavior, such as bullying, extreme rudeness or outright cruelty. Be aware that intentional false accusations will incur the same penalty. Misunderstandings are to be expected occasionally. Malicious lies will not be tolerated!

Guild Storage Rules & Usage:
Items stored in any guild chest are never to be sold, or otherwise disposed of, by anyone other than the guild leader or successor. We are only likely to do so with items that continue to fail to be useful.
Officer Chests are primarily for use by the guild leader and the successor.* Never place anything in these chests, unless it is to be removed immediately, by another character.* And even that is only in the event there is no space available in another chests.
General Guild Storage is for the sharing of items and equipment, amongst guild members. Items will be marked by locking, unlocking, or marking as junk. The meaning of each is as follows;

LOCKED = intended for someone specific to pick up. Absolutely do not remove, without permission. We understand that many non-VIPs don't have access to a shared bank. For this reason, we make allowances for transfer of items between characters, by way of the guild storage. We merely request that you not store them there, as you would your shared or personal bank.
UNLOCKED = to be used for stacking items. Unlocked but not marked as junk means anyone may use from the stack but at least one item, of the stack, must always be left. If, by some chance, multiple identical stacks exist, only one stack need remain. If you use from these stacks, please be sure to give back on occasion. Individual items, marked in this way, may be used so long as they are replaced with an item of similar level and usefulness. Even low level items are acceptable here. After all, novices need equipment too.
JUNK = take as needed, but only if you are of appropriate level, and intend to use it for yourself. If putting in "novice items", mark this way. If trading to a non-guild member, treat as Unlocked.

Improperly marked items may not be treated in the manner intended by the person leaving them. Therefore, please be careful to properly mark the items you drop into a guild storage chest.

Guild Funds
Because your guild leaders do not have unlimited personal funding, donations are necessary for the guild to progress. That said, you will not be forced to donate either platinum or shards. If however, you have it to spare, please donate as much and as often as you can. Your donations will be very much appreciated.
{Any donations, of no minimum value, can be made by way of the Airship Showroom, in the Harbor, next to the ship access. Shard donations, in increments of 25s, can be made on the ship (for guilds that have one), by way of the kobold first mate.}
As soon as we can get enough funds (platinum and shards) we can buy/upgrade our ship and begin to fill it full of amenities.
To keep things simple and aboveboard, we request that officers leave the purchase of amenities to the guild leader and successor. If you wish a particular amenity purchased, please send an Orion Express message to that effect. And be sure to donate sufficient shards or platinum for the purchase of that amenity. This request is to prevent the duplication of Stateroom amenities with countless Hold Room amenities that do not stack. I am fairly certain, unless we get extremely lucky in our fundraising, that we will not want to waste the platinum and shards on those ultimately useless amenities.
Regarding Cargo amenities, anyone may spend their own Platinum on maintaining these amenities. We only request that you do not overlay something someone else has placed. And we would prefer to avoid duplication. Please bear in mind that, once we have fully equipped the ship, many of the cargo amenities will not stack with permanent amenities on the ship. Also when we have completely outfitted the ship, donations of platinum will not be nearly so useful. They are not applicable to Cargo amenities.

To other like-minded guilds out there;
Please feel free to use this as your generic Guild Charter as well. It's obvious that the Dev's didn't make the guild notation nearly large enough to encompass such documents. So all you need to do is type the URL for this document into your guild message. Then just request your members to read through it.
We will even allow for you to copy it, if you need significant changes. Take this as the official statement that this document is free. Just use it wisely.

I'm Jeada, the guild leader. This is the guild charter we are using for Welcoming Darkness on the Ghallanda server.
As of this posting, we are a new start-up guild of almost level 5. We're looking to recruit, to build our guild, get a ship and fill it with amenities.
Anyone, who is in this game to have fun (not at the expense of others), is welcome to join. Just send me a tell, if I'm on. If I'm not, message me by Orion Express or ask any member who is available.
I hope to see you in game.

Jeada

If we are going to get even the smallest ship, we need donations. The success of our Fund Raising will inevitably determine what ship we wind up with.
Thank you, in advance, for your donations to support your guild.

My name is Kyrraah Fireyame and I am the guild leader of Changewinds, on the Khyber server. We are using this for our Guild Charter.

We are on the road to re-vamping an older guild, that had fallen into disuse. We are currently level 27, with a Sparrow.
We're looking to recruit, to build our guild, get a better ship and fill it with amenities.
Anyone, who is in this game to have fun (not at the expense of others), is welcome to join. Just send a tell to any member who is available.

As I am FTP, and not made of money, we will need donations to get more amenities and a better ship. The success of our Fund Raising will inevitably determine what ship and amenities we wind up with. So please give, if you can.

I hope to see you in game.

Kyrraah
