Hello everyone.
I love playing ranged dps characters, especially with longbows.
I've already tried pure 20 ranger and a monkcher, and now i'm looking for help with any of the following builds:

1. Kensai Archer (either 20 Elf Fighter or Fighter/Ranger)
2. Paladin Archer (14 Paladin for Holysword maybe 6 ranger maybe not?)

Help would be really appreciated. want to TR soon.
Thanks!

I play a 12/8 Fighter/Wizard using Eldritch Knight/Arcane Archer
It is an Elf, but it would work with Morninglord (either keep or LR out the cleric level) or Half-Elf - To get the Arcane Archer Enhancements via race.

I have also seen a few Paladin/Cleric Morninglord builds using AA and Paladin Holy Sword + Zeal (at least 15 levels for both)

Personally, I found Kensai still was better with a few monk levels thus coming maybe too close to the Monkarcher

More specifics would help. Do you want a particular heroic PL feat? Do you want anything besides ranged DPS? Do you plan to only use a bow or do you want to mix things up with other weapons (either melee or different ranged options like shuriken or xbows)? Etc...

Thanks for the quick answers
What I aim for is just range DPSing only, without swapping weapons. Just straight forward running with a longbow and range everything.
My thoughts are elf race for AA and dex for dmg, that way i dont have to take ranger level and fighter gets enough feats to make up for losing bow str, manyshot etc... But I am not sure about the exact levels (need to have some mana, key enchantments). Thats why i need help.
I already have ranger, monk, wizard, artificer past lifes so i need any other.

Rogue(at least 2 levels) and/or paladin(at least 14 levels) are good. Holy sword or sneak attack based. Rogue is better with repeater tho, especially in lower levels. You can also do Cleric(plays like artificer), but AA unlocks are pricey. Fighter is decent archer too.

You could take a look at my "Fighter-heavy" archer build in my signature. Its not 100% up to date, due to little tweaks here and there, but maybe it could give you some inspiration...

I took the "Cetus-split" and made it with ranged focus to fit my need. Lots of feats for ranged power goodness, DPS increasing past lives (Pally/Rogue), Monk for 10K Stars. Going the Elf/AA route takes a huge toll on you APs, but I'm pretty satisfied with the way it handles.

Adding (minimum) 6 Monk to get 10K stars is highly recommended. And 6 Ranger would give you free Manyshot, but more importantly "Snipershot from lvl6 Deepwood core (AP alert!). That leaves 8 Fighter for some Weapon Focus/Specialization feats (ranged power and base damage). I have a guildie who ran such a build and he liked it a lot.

For the 14 Pally/6x split, I think Monk is more liked than Ranger due to 10K stars... But IMO those builds are feat starved, but sure, it has the highest potential for a big Fury crit (or at least it did in the past, I was never big on number crunching so that might not be the case now 8))

It sounds a little to me, that you want a build for a heroic PL, so just 1-20? If that's the case, I guess I shouldn't have mentioned Fury crits hehe. But yeah, there are many builds out there, who will work fine for just heroic leveling, but most of them only start to shine late in life. And as you already have tried pure Ranger and a Monkcher variant, you have probably found out some things that has worked well for you. Have you tried one of the build planners? They are really good, to experiment with different build options. I use Ron's planner (RJ cyberware.com/ddo), but many prefer EllisDee's CharacterBuilderLite nowadays it seems. Sorry I didn't provide a proper link, but they should be easy to find...

Hope I haven't caused too much confusion, I wish you luck with your archer!
