Please make tumble active skill, or a key bindings under options, so people who like to use it don't have to strain their fingers holding Shift and clicking W a lot,or whatever keybindings you use, holding down a button, while mashing another button is not comfortable. Do like 4 keybindings (tumble forwards/backwards/ to sides), or make active skill with a drop down spell like menu. Also maybe add ability to keep tumbling, if you hold the button down, so you don't have to mash it. This would make using tumble more attractive to people to use. Especially for artificers using rune arms, or wizards, so you can just hold down tumble while mashing spell keys, or operating rune arm, instead of having to hold down and mush multiple buttons.
Edit: inbe4 "Nobody uses tumble"- quality of life improvements for tumble would make more people use it, as there are enchantments and epic destiny abilities related to this that people would use, if tumble was not such a bother to do.

I assigned my block button to be accessible to my thumb...it feels more comfortable. I also assigned a secondary attack key to E. It's good for clickie happy builds like monks and casters allowing you to float your pointer over things and keep it there for your next click.
I have high tumble on my ranger. I was pretty impressed a few times. Been able to leap from a swinging sword, and backflip from an opponent then shoot at it with an arrow. The ability to pass through enemies would be awesome with a tank.

I use tumble all the time, I see no need to change how it works. You can always change your own key bindings, or get a gaming mouse and macro the sequence under one of its buttons.

I would prefer if it was in game, instead of having to do 3rd party macros, and buy extra hardware. While you can do macros as workaround, it is preferable, when you don't have to. Also the macros where you have to gold down buttons while tapping buttons with different animations are finicky, especially on uneven ground, or when you start twitching while blocking (admittedly, I am not weary good at scripting).

I really don't think spending $60-120 on a mouse with extra buttons is necessarily a viable solution for most people.

Tumble currently is off of shield block and as such is a Duel Key action.
With that being said the current Key mappings do allow for flexibility for you as a user to move or even define a second button that is more comfortable for you.
Many standard mice have three buttons (3rd is pressing the Wheel down) so there are options there since in most cases you don't swing and tumble/shield block at the same time.
Another alternative is to use a different Keyboard key - R is one that I commonly remap as it is the Auto Run button and that gets me in more trouble, but its location may be more agreeable for the OPs tumbling purposes.

Of course using a Mouse, Keyboard or Game pad could also lend itself to more options. Many of these devices are designed to consolidate common commands together such as what is needed to do a successful tumble. These could range between $30 and $130. But they can be great additions to your home computing. The one I have has 3 modes, I use one for Gaming with DDO and another for my work in software development, doing this has saved my strain as well as allowed me to do mundane common tasks quickly.
