I highly doubt it has changed, but the description does say any clothing or armor, yet I don't feel like risking it just to find out it doesn't work. If we can't and they have no plans to ever allow it, they should add the old school "Spider" line of cosmetics to the store, it's the best they ever made in my opinion.

The new (to me) "try it on" feature in the store is really nice by the way.

All my old school cosmetics (applied to armor) were turned into new school cosmetics.

So I am not sure what your question is?

There were quite a few of the old-school cosmetics that were never updated to new ones.

HOWEVER there are a LOT of new armor appearances just on random gen armor that are quite cool, some (imo) better than the old school cosmetics.

The devs have said that the two cosmetic systems are not very compatible and it takes more than a little work to move stuff over from the old system to the new. (Don't ask me why, the code for this game is bizarre in a lot of ways--too many things done by hand so they have to brute-force everything instead of being able to copy and paste and be done.) They'd like to do it, but it's just not a priority at this time. They're REALLY tightly scheduled right now from the sound of things, and this is the sort of thing that will probably have to wait until somebody has some free time.

I like having more options, too. I have an entire alt whose bank is full of cosmetics. I may have a SLIGHT cosmetic problem. *cough*

Old school cosmetics were applied directly and permanently to a single piece of armor. They could be toggled on and off by clicking the chest in the inventory window. I have quite a number of them, and they all function exactly as they always have.

New cosmetics are bound to account and can be placed in the cosmetic armor slot to transform any piece of armor.

When you say your old cosmetics were "turned into" new cosmetics, do you mean you were given a new cosmetic armor item to put in the cosmetic slot and the old cosmetic bound to the piece of armor was removed?

Really, I don't see how the new system couldn't be compatible with everything, since it basically just replicates any appearance. Yet it's not the end of the world either. In a way it's cooler having something no one else can get, yet I'd gladly trade the exclusivity of it to be able to apply it to any armor so I'd love to see it added to the store if it's just too difficult to allow glamer.

The problem is the new glamer goes from the BASE, not the old cosmetic layered over the base. And when they switched from old to new, they didn't bother to make skins of all the old ones. I dunno why they didn't, as I wouldn't have thought the old skins - which are still in the game, as you can still see them on old armors - would be that difficult to put into the new system, but there ya go.

So no, you can't glamer the old-school cosmetics, and you won't be able to, unless you find some random lootgen or a named armor that uses the same skin.

open beast_heavy_003.tiff (or whatever) in paint > select all > copy

open current costmetic_slot_file that is in the store (different format apparently) > paste

save as "new version of beast_heavy_003" > click okay

have third party store people put the new hooks (data base reference) in for the new cosmetic ????

> profit
