First, I'm wondering if you slot two Meteoric Star Rubies into the same weapon, will they both proc? I'm sure this has probably been asked and answered before; I just couldn't find it with a search. Anyway, the situation is this: I just got a tier 2 thunder-forged great axe on my barbarian and I'm trying to figure out what to slot in it. One Meteoric Star Ruby is a no-brainer. I was thinking about putting a Ruby Eye of Force in the other slot. I had also considered a Ruby of Evil in order to make this weapon bypass most DR (I'll be running in DC or US destinies most of the time and I'm Neutral Good, which gives me Good DR bypassing already).

Second, what augments do people suggest for my axe, assuming my choices for the second augment are sub-optimal? (I do have an Ash2 heroic green steel great axe that I can use when I'm up against Archons.)

Third, I really like the way the axe looks with the Purified Weapons effect on it from Unyielding Sentinel. (For those who haven't used that ability, it's the "white flames" like in this picture: https://thelongshotist.files.wordpress.com/2015/05/screenshot00337.jpg ) Is there any way for me to get that added using glamering? Looking at the wiki, it shows "holy" and that's really boring looking. I have a glamered weapon aura thing from the DDO Store (that I bought by accident), but I haven't been able to figure out how to use it yet. Do I have to create a cosmetic copy of my thunder-forged great axe and then put that cosmetic copy into the glamered weapon aura thing along with a weapon that has the look that I want?

Thanks for helping me out!

Not sure about the other questions, but if you have to go with the "sub-optimal" approach for a 2nd augment, depending on your gear setup I think a good bet could be devotion to boost your self-healing or combustion to increase the effectiveness of the offensive portion of consecration.

Those are things I hadn't considered. That's worth thinking about. Thanks, FuzzyDuck!

My dwarf has the meteoric star paired with a ruby of endless night. I have no idea if that's the best setup but I like the neg level special effects, although I don't cackle with joy the same way as when things turn blue while I'm using a vorpal weapon.

P.S. I have no idea about weapon glammoring, sorry.

That's a thought, too. I like neg levels (hence the Ash2 green steel great axe) and inflicting them during epic levels can make a big difference. I have an Endless Night augment on one of my rogue's weapons that I could steal. He's not using that weapon anymore, anyway (and he's been parked a while).

Good question, chance-based procs are weird at times, especially when they're the same proc. Pairing a meteoric star ruby with a ruby eye of some kind should work, though.

Neg levels in epics "can" make a large difference, but only if you can inflict them very quickly and reliably. If you aren't a doublestrike/attack speed build I personally see no use to using neg level or stat damage procs. In EH and especially in EE, they heal it way too fast to make it viable.

Thanks for pointing this out. Yeah, my build is not an attack speed build, though I do have 15% melee alacrity and a Speed X item on. I'll think about a damage augment or something like devotion or spell points. 150 spell points in DC doesn't go very far when Consecration sucks down 30 per use - and that makes US more attractive because Light the Dark doesn't take spell points, regenerates over time, heals me for 1400+ hit points, and also heals party members around me while inflicting a little (yes, I know it's not much) damage on any undead unfortunate enough to be near me at that moment. And I easily top 2100 hp in US. :D

I remember reading some time back, though I don't recall the thread, about the possibility of slotting two Meteoric Star Rubies in one weapon. The discussion basically ended when one of the devs, and I can't remember which one, said that only one would proc. You can't get double bang for the buck by slotting two of the same augment.

RE: Glamered

I've been toying with using a couple if mirrors on my favorite weapon pattern and effect to create my main "uniform". But that clones the weapon as well and hides the weapon actually being equipped. It also only applies when wielding a weapon of the same group (1hd, 2hd, bow, etc...), of course.

Thanks, everyone, for the input. I got the Meteoric Star Ruby slotted last night. When I'm able, I'm going to slot a second one and see what happens. If it works or doesn't, I'll post back. If it doesn't, I'm still not sure what I'll do for the second augment. (And, even if it does, I might still change it out.) I've still got to get the rest of the gear layout figured out. He's using stuff from a couple of lives ago (which is actually 4 years in real world time) and so some of it is rather out-dated.
