Armor level 8: Absolute Minimum Level 22?

I couldn't find an answer and didn't see where to post this. I have level 8 armor that has an "absolute minimum level" of 22. My level 16 character can wear it (strangely). My question is, what does this mean? Is there some disadvantage to my character wearing this armor while being under the absolute minimum level? Also, it is unequipped every time I log in but I can equip it again. I'm not sure this is a bug report or what. I was just wondering what the deal was I guess.

This is one of those things that is not operating as one would expect.

The Minimum Level (ML) it the base minimum level of an item. This is based on the upgrades (prefix/suffix/Other bonuses) attached to the item.

Absolute Minimum level is supposed to be the minimum level of an item when all the stuff is stripped off.

The problem appears to be that you Armor has a base. Example "Planeforged" armor has an Absolute Minimum Level of 22. If it is deconstructed it will maintain the AML of 22 but will have its Minimum Level based on the crafted enhancements.

At one point AML did prevent players from using the equipment, which is still seen today as you mentioned you have to put it back on each time you login.

While I would classify this as Not WAI, I still leave it up to Turbine to decide how it should work - Either prevent the user from using it until they meet level requirement or stop having the item unequip when you log off and back on again.

And if your armor have augs slot - just put any aug with ML>1 into, and forget about this issue forever. 8)

The joy of technicalities? The Burden was from having gear equipped that was too high of a "Minimum Level." In this case the minimum level is acceptable, it's the "Absolute Minimum Level" that isn't asserting it's self; two hair-splittingly different things.

I'm not sure, I thought most of that stuff has ml:6.
I've seen one item with ml:16 and due to the recent power changes I might just be a legit.
