OK, I'm ready to TR for the first time ever, I have my tokens, just thinking what else I should have, so here's my checklist...

Reach Epic level.

1. Do "A Legend Revisited" over and over until you get http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Cursed_Blade_of_Jack_Jibbers
(Is it just me or is that the coolest thing ever? ML1 - everybody should have one.)

2. Bank 20 tokens.

3. Farm 150 Planar Shards, get Large Collectible Bag.

4. What else...?

Check if you are close to any 20th list you may want to grab.

Don't forget any favor awards which will benefit you in the next life. Even a lesser Harper pin will get you out of a pesky kobold shaman hold spell when you need it.

You can check this post:

Not up to date, but you should have enough information to get started.

Try to farm a master gift and slot it in a ML 1-2 item for fast lvl 1-5.

1. Farm up gear for your next life while over level to make it really easy.
2. Phiarlan Time Pendant get one!
3. Stock up on potions, scrolls etc while your Haggle skill is higher which will save you some Plat.
4. Profit... I guess :)

Yugo Favor pots.
Check chain saga favor rewards, use up xp rewards on any Epic Destinies that need topping up.
pickup all the favor rewards for any useful stuff..
Raid 20th incremental reward lists.. are any close enough to be worth finishing.
any stuff you can power grind out on a over level toon that may be useful for future life. (heroic greensteels, VOD, etc..)
Line up and organize any needed incremental gear for next TR life (Cannith crafting, other transitional gear)
Eveningstar Key

is this a one time TR with no gret plan to TR again or a TR rinse /repeat...
..Long time to TR.. stockup bank/backpack favor and load up the toon with stuff to fill TR cache for long term storage..
..quick TR rinse/repeat.. minimize TR gear, roll up mule toon to hold excess gear to keep the TR cache small.. (it is a PITA to clear a large TR cache every life)

I think I've done about 2 or 3 different raids about once or twice each....

Well, here's a question - does my crafting XP get set back to 0?

Well, here's a question - does my crafting XP get set back to 0?

No crafting stays, so its a good thing to work on over time. Still its usefulness is somewhat limited, and can be a big time sink in my opinion.

Yes, the other day I wanted to create a pair of something like +3 Holy Cold Iron daggers of Good. I reckon I could have run all of VoN in the time it took me. And the end result isn't that good - I think the Cold Iron and the Holy are redundant or something.
Maybe I should spend even *more* time by googling for some good crafting recipes.

It's a relief that my crafting xp doesn't get reset though.

The XP you have earned stays from one life to the next so you never lose it. However, what does reset every life is the XP you can earn by making shards. The XP per shard reduces down every time you make it so eventually you get 0 XP for it but that resets when you TR. It is a big time sink but a worthwhile one imho :)

So nothing delaying the TR from the raid perspective.. If you were at 16+ I would say hold off..

No crafting XP does not reset, but doing a quick run to go get some BTA gear, or other goodies to prep and ready gear is easier before TR'ing then piecing together what you need after TR.
I prefer to have my gear lined up and ready to go so I can head straight to questing in low level content instead of milling around trying to figure out what to wear after the TR...

also ^Stoner makes a good point about crafting XP, sometimes its good to hold off crafting if you are still working the crafting XP circuit..

Put all your low level twink gear and useful items in your character bank, they'll show up at the top of your TR cache.

Drop all your purchasable scrolls and potions, you can buy them back after you TR, don't need them cluttering the TR cache.

Make sure you get the 12 favor reward (large Ingredient bag)

Have ml 2 invulnerability armor or outfit ready.

Get your Experience stones out of storage to go directly from level 1 to 2.

I'm a big fan of the ioun stones. Spell absorption got me through many a heroic end fight when the game was challenging.

Here is the Great Big TR Checklist (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/355152-The-Great-Big-TR-Checklist?) its a bit old ... but a lot applies & a lot does not .. but it has most of anything you could think of to check

Heh - I started stockpiling these some time back......how good would it be if they actually stacked!?

Make sure you have enough plat to buy stuf from brokers or AH to fill up an inventory slot.
There are always gaps when leveling up again.
About 1 to 2 mil should be enough for this, depending on prices on your server ofc.

I've recently thought of another thing to check off before TR'ing:
- Achieve 2500 total favor (unlocks Favoured Soul class).

So, I have my large ingredients bag and my 20 Tokens.
I've given up finding a JJB - I think it might only drop on Elite, and I don't fancy my chances at being able to complete it on Elite. I have one toon who found one, the others will just have to be envious.
I'm closing in on 2500 favor to unlock Favoured Soul.
I'm spending a bit of time in the Subterrane - my toons have 50-100 shards each, so 150 isn't too far off.
As far as gear goes, I have so much stuff stockpiled I really can't be bothered hunting down anymore.

I got mine a couple of months ago on EH, took me 38 runs. Don't give up!

Take a long, hard look at your inventory and bank and see if you can ditch some of it. Trust me.
