any ideas
Only one. I hope your group enjoys lugging your soulstone around.

EDIT: Actually here is an idea: go Bladeforged and use a +1 heart. Now you got a pure fighter with some self-healing ability. Take Kensei Tier 5 for damage and from Stalwart take 20% hp and +6 CON stance. Figure the rest of it out yourself.

So helpful!

op

think about going halfling w dragon marks or invest in umd to heal youself as a human

It was helpful. Thinking you can bring a untomed, ungeared first life fighter straight to EE is madness. Bladeforged was the most OP option I could think of. As for the rest of the build, I think he should experiment and come up with one on his own, that's what makes this game fun.

Better hope one of them is a dedicated healer, as fighters still don't have any self-healing, unless you're playing a halfling w/DMs or a Bladeforged. Eventually you will be able to pick up ED healing abilities, but first you have to level them up, which takes a while.

I've partially updated my Dwarven Defender thread for U31; however for a self-sufficient S&B tank, I think pally is still better, so see my Sacred Vanguards thread. If anything, on a first life I would go pally, then HTR into ftr once I had my EDs gear etc. sorted out.

Being able to run EE in a group is a decent goal for a first lifer, don't let the others tell you any different.
It does however take some investment when it comes to ED's and playing according to your characters capabilities.
Below is a pretty straight forward vanguard build that should be able to hold it's own.

Alternatively you can go for capstone and t5 in kensai to get some more damage in exchange for some CC, that's a personal choice, however I think as a first lifer, the extra CC from t5 vanguard is gonna help out more. (just advice, try both and see what you prefer)

Don't be that guy that runs in useless sentinel though, divine crusader and legendary dreadnaught is where it's at.

Listen to Unbongwah and do either the Bladeforged Fighter or Human Pally as your build. Go pure in either case, because that's the easiest thing to learn to play under stress the first time around.

Don't listen to the naysayers on Epic Elite with a 1st Lifer *if* you are playing in a static group with friends. Otherwise avoid EE on 1st life with the type of build you are wanting to play. Nobody "groups" in DDO unless they're friends/guildies. Everybody solos in a group otherwise and neither of the builds you can approach EE with are going to be a good solo in a group experience as a 1st life character.

Setting aside whether INT-based pure Kensei is a good idea in the first place, I see a few issues:

Not having the last two cores (One Cut + Alacrity) is a major DPS loss, so that's definitely the first thing you should fix. I also think it's a mistake not to invest in Stalwart D. as well, esp. if you want Bulwark of Defense.
You took Slashing weapons feats and maxed out Gnomish Weapon Training line; but gnomish bonuses don't apply to any slashing weapons. [Short swords are piercing.]
As an INT-based build, I think your Stunning Blow DCs will be too low to do any good. Dire Charge should be fine, though.
Dumping STR means you can't pick up Power Atk, which means no Cleave + GC feats either. You don't list your ED so I don't know what your plan is there; but I always prefer to have some AoE atks plus the option of using Momentum Swing+Lay Waste.

If you're looking for a character that can survive and contribute in EE as a first lifer in a fixed group, I suggest this:
Go THF, forget sword and shield. Get stunning blow and take the 2 best tiers of the bonus to tactical DCs feat. That'll give you a useful stunner. Why go THF?
Frankly the reason is this: the best defense is a good offense. As a first lifer you're going to have serious troubles getting enough defense to be able to stand toe to toe long even with a shield with EE mobs (especially champions, they're bad news and good candidates for stunning blow). THF will give you strong DPS with few constraints on your stats and also good trash cleaning ability with glancing blows cleaves and great cleaves.
For an ED, I suggest going Divine crusader. DC will give you a solid self-healing and group healing ability. For stats something like Str 16, Con 16, rest as desired (go strength 18 if you like and are comfortable dumping the rest). For a race go human. Take like 24 in stalwart, 41 in kensai and use the rest in racial and harper.

Yeah I noticed the slashing issue and added some other stuff. I did some number crunching and kopesh gives better dps anyway I think. It is an experiment I would never roll unless I had a regular group.
