View Full Version : Anthem augment broken/bugged?

So, I got my thrower build back to level 30 a day or two ago and twisted Reign (mainly to see if I would have any songs to use with it). To my surprise, I actually had some (17, if i recall correctly). I've got an anthem augment slotted in my bracers on this character (from when he had actual bard levels). I noticed that my uses of Reign did not regenerate, even when I removed the bracers and put them back on. The character's build this life is 13 monk/6 ranger/1 rogue and I'm not running on Fatesinger (either Shiradi, Fury, Divine Crusader or sometimes Unyielding Sentinel).
So, the question then is this: Is it the augment that's bugged? Or is it the twist that's bugged? Or, perhaps, the twist is working correctly and songs/uses are not supposed to regenerate?
Thanks in advance! This is the first time I've had a character with an anthem augment and no bard levels.

Now this is only my experience with Anthem...
If you have a bard level in your build it appears to regenerate songs.
If you do not have a bard level, but have access to songs then it does not appear to regenerate songs
Examples: Half-Elf Dilettante (Fascinate), Bard Active Past Life (Inspire) or being in Fate Singer (Inspire)

Well, that is interesting. Here's something I had forgotten to include in the original post: Resting at a rest shrine does not refill the number of times I can use Reign, either. I'm thinking that I'm going to have to unslot it as a twist, then reslot it in order to get the number of songs/uses back up to where they should be. Also, I can't figure out why I would have 17 uses when I have no bard levels, am not in Fatesinger, and am not twisting anything else from Fatesinger.

According to the DDO wiki (http://ddowiki.com/page/Anthem_(item_enchantment)) anthem items only work if you have bard levels. Topaz of Anthem is listed explicitly on that page.

Thanks, Baktiotha. I missed that. Mystery solved! (Except, I still don't understand why my uses of Reign don't get reset when I rest...)

No answer to the rest question. One observation, are you sure you rested?
Sometimes, not sure the cause, I'll notice that I do a rest animation but when I get up I haven't actually rested. I think it is lag induced but I'm not certain. Anyway, shrine will still be usable and I'll rest again. Usually the result is that I'll actually rest.
Wish I could help on that one. :(

I'm not actually sure how you had "songs" to use with reign if you didn't have a source of songs such as: having a bard level, Half-Elf bard dilettante, Bard PL Feat or in the Fatesinger destiny. To me that seems like the issue is that you never should have been able to use Reign because you did not have had songs.
Now the question is, did you replace this twist with something else and then put Reign back to see if you get the 17 songs back?

It's a bug. You have to be in the Fatesinger epic destiny active in order to twist Reign. Since you're in Fatesinger, you're technically a Bard. When you get your twists to your liking, you will have the above issus.
TL;DR - A relog removes this problem, its a carryover from being in Fatesinger to begin with.

You don't need to be in the fatesinger epic destiny to twist in Reign. I use to twist in Reign on my Artificer (Bard Past Life) and on my Paladin (Half-Elf Dilatant)

Well, I tested out dropping Reign as a twist and then taking it again and I got no songs that time. So, the bug must have been in my having songs at all, which makes sense (because I never understood how I had any to begin with). Thank you all for helping me sort this out. I really appreciate it.

If you reset your twists of fate so nothing is twisted, and you have fury of the wild for example as your active epic destiny, how do you twist Reign into its slot? You go into the Fatesinger destiny! IE, you make Fatesinger the active destiny. The bug I refered to above results from having had Fatesinger as your active destiny at any time (and having rested with it active) and not having logged off the character.
