I just came back from a 2.5 year break and I am looking for a good epic build for a level 20 pure sorcerer. The trouble is, all my searches result in builds that are years old. Is there a good place to find up-to-date builds for DDO?

Pretty much what I would consider the classic 20 sorc (and still updated).

Thank you for the link. I did find that one earlier, but I worried it might be too DC dependent. He has a super build with great gear and a ton of past lives that result in very high DC's on his spells. Will that build work on a character with far fewer past lives and whatever gear I can randomly find? I'm not planning on spending time hunting gear because I am only trying to make it to level 30 and 5000 favor at which point I will both epic and heroic TR. What is the least DC dependent build for a pure sorcerer?
With no focus on DC the only really viable option would be a build in the shiradi destiny and focus on spells with no DC and multi procs, like magic missile, chain missiles, force missile, scorching ray, meteor swarm and focus on spellpower and crit chances only.
The problem is that the sorc tree is far from ideal for that (you mainly want force+sonic spellpower), most shiradi builds spec inti Angel of Vengeance (FvS) and Archmage (Wizard) for that.
Going fire specced should still work well for leveling to 30 (meteor swarm is awesome in shiradi).
What difficulty are you aiming at though? EE is very gear dependant for casters. For EN/EH you can get away with much less and the DC caster variant is much more doable if you lack gear.

This sounds like the way I will need to go. As for difficulty, I am very reasonable. While I love the idea of being able to solo EE's, I understand that it is very unlikely to be possible with the poor gear I have. I would be quite happy being able to solo EH and be a useful group member in EE's. I have a fully developed epic destiny tree (except for the destiny they added while I was gone which I am currently working on) so I can twist in anything you recommend with no problem. Staying fire may be the way to go, in which case all I need to do is swap out a couple spells (I didn't pick up chain missile or force missile).
Very helpful advice for sure. If there is any gear that you would recommend that is easy to come by (perhaps can be found at auction for an inexpensive plat price or is no trouble to get from a quest) I may make an effort to grab it, but otherwise I will mostly be going with random gear that I found.

Random lootgen is actually better than any named items when you start at level 20 when it comes to shiradi gear.
Look for dire rings on the auction house for crit multipliers for your main spellpowers (force, fire, sonic) and just get two caster weapons with those spellpowers.
There are no named items that come close to spellpowers and crits you find on random gen now, at that level.
As for general spellpowers you could farm the pansophic circlet (helmet) from heroic Memoirs of an Illusory Larcener, which has potency, insightful potency and quality potency.
It's only level 13 but hey it still has more potency than my old epic green blade.
For the rest of your gear just focus on anything that gives you better defense (saves, HP, dodge, ghostly etc.).
The best twist is empyrean magic from divine crusader which gives you 1% crit chance and 2 spellpower everytime you cast fire, light or healing spells (stacks 10 times).
On a fire spec it shouldn't be hard to keep it going.
Other good twists are energy burst or sense weakness (once you have nerve venom in shiradi, you will see a lot of helpless procs on mobs), they are both tier 4 though.

Thanks for the help. I'll be on the lookout for those items.
