Odd question. How do you get the death window back if you clicked it away?

I have never died in ddo, so I have to conjecture:

I think once you click the death window away, there should be a "REVIVE" button in the quest objectives window (next to "XP" / "RELEASE"). That REVIVE button should bring back the option for using astral shards to resurrect. Is that what you were asking for?

Did you try [Alt]+Z and try to rearrange your windows/UI elements?

this can happen in public spaces and you find yourself stuck without it (in which case log out & back in).

If you spend time dead or incapacitated, you should see the window pop up again. If it doesn't, you can use /death to "die" again, which iirc should pop up the window again. /stuck may also work if you're in a public place (not a quest) and if you're in a quest you can click release (which should take the place of the recall/finish button).

This has been my experience when I've died in the public area events (Mabar, Crystal Cove, etc.) and accidentally clicked away the box. After a minute or two, it pops back up.

If you mean you checked the little box that effectively says "don't show again in quests", then I believe you need to go into your options and reset the hints (under "UI settings") to get it back. Unfortunately, it'll reset all of the hints, including all the ones you normally see in Korthos (i.e. "you have taken damage", "you have entered 'mouse-look' mode", etc.). As far as I know, that is the only way to get it back once you check the "go away" box on the window.

If you simply closed the window w/o checking the "go away" box, then it will reappear after a short while (probably 10-30 seconds) *IF* you are still dead.

Personally, I'd love to have a "one-shot" of the window - go ahead and pop-up the first time I die, but then stay closed until I'm brought back (one way or another). I like it popping up ONCE, but I don't need to keep being reminded after that.

Great until you /death to take the Death Express back to your ship, hit the buff bar, and die again because your CON went down by 2, giving you -30 HP, which is enough to kill you again... and you accidentally close the window *g*

The one in the Journal window never goes away. That's the same window with the Recall button. It's on the other side of "XP" after a quest is finished.

If I remember right that button gets your XP window back.
