I hope this is a bad attempt at April fools as we had maintenance already this week, or are we going to see several maints a week just to try to mitigate lag?

Yay! I get to post my second message in 10 years and its a happy one this time with no *****y Tirade. What ever you did in your last down time, for the most part, cleared the lag filled play up, at least for me. The lag has been somewhat minimal with periodic short bouts, but nothing to wipe groups to speak of. I want to say thank you for what you guys did. Do some more so we can once and for all kill off "LAG Monster" (who by the way follows one of our guild members around constantly). Playing was very miserable there for a few weeks and I almost "Rage Quit" DDO, which is not like me.
On a sad note, I no longer have a reason to have my husband make me a new computer, but I don't care :P
p.s. Take whatever time is needed to keep this the only game I ever play with the exception of Solitaire and Mahjong during down times.

I have to agree, complain if you do or don't. ROFL
My vote on this is good luck and i hope you insta-kill the lag guys and thanks for helping to get rid of the #1 raid / quest killer.

Thanks a lot turbine, 3 times in one week, have a thought for the UK players. It is the easter holidays here so some of us would like to have played a bit more this week. What about some compensation for loss of service? Once in a week is acceptable for maintenance but 3 times is a joke.....

It really is like complaining that nobody's pouring water on you when you're on fire.
Then when someone pours water on you, you complain that you're all wet.
I just can't even... there are no words...

It's not a joke, it simply is a neccessity right now. Hell, I'd advocate downtime and server restarts today even if they didn't change anything just to make sure the game is as playable as possible before the weekend.

with some of the recent lag, server reset/restarts likely handy/useful, but poor timing on April Fools, and 3x in one week, for any MMO lol...

Sorry for this but come on, three times in one week is getting a bit much. maybe you need to make a plan before you just go back in the very next day and say lets try again for another 4 hours and see if changing one line of code will work. gets a bit much when you dont get to be on here much to begin with and its always downtime at the same time every time right in your window and for the third time in the same week. maybe make it later in the day or switch it up so its not always affecting the same people all the time with no sort of compensation for the money they pay for VIP. I have one be able to spend one morning on here this week while the kids sleep and l have a few hours to myself to enjoy this game that isnt having lag on my part to fix issues with others that have slow systems or slow connections or whatever might be the issue. maybe the connection speed needs to be a required min. maybe that is the issue. Would love a response to show me that someone is reading our posts and what might be done about not just game downtime but why we are paying for a game that has so many issues and are not even compensated with in game reward or something to show we understand the issues we are having and how its affecting you personally.... come on DDO and turbine we are the upset customers that are trying to love your game but your making it so hard to see you want to understand us and not just say oh well just deal with it....

I cant disagree more. If they dont fix lag fast and furious ppl start to be afraid they are going into "maintenance mode" and wont see a future for this game that is the best of the best.
They must do it like this, what they show with all this downtime and hard work trying to fix lag as fast as possible is: the developers and owners of ddo are here to stay for a long long time, they are ready to work hard for ddo to be as lag free and good as possible asap again :-)
(These last weeks with all downtime has given me lots more faith of the games future than i had before!)

ever thought about using one world to do downtime on at a time till the issue is fixed than do all worlds at once, do all the worlds have to come down each time just to try something seems a bit much when you just trying to fix it because you are not sure of the issue. Take it all down when you know the issue but stabs in the dark lets not punish everyone... IJS

[...] and l have a few hours to myself to enjoy this game that isnt having lag on my part to fix issues with others that have slow systems or slow connections or whatever might be the issue. [...]
I don't have he crippling lag either some people are describing. In fact, I think most people on Khyber are pretty lucky right now. And i do think some people are blowing the issue out of proportion and some people are just trying to get their cut, or make a point, or whatever. HOWEVER it's a fact that things have been bad all over and fixing it is an on-going process. the problem needs to be solved as quickly as possible, and whenever data and production cycles open a window of opportunity. And speaking of scheduling and windows of opportunity.. would you really prefer them doing it like half a hour before they leave the office, bringing the servers back up, and then going home for the weekend? Would you demand them to head back to the office if problems arise half an hour later? Ah, scratch that. you probably would.
This is work that needs to be done. And an honest 'Thank you!' to everyone who is doing it.

opinions like yours and mine are great and thank you for your side but l will take yours with a grain of salt unless you are a game tech in the trenches telling me this is the best and only way it can be done. This game has had lag since l have started but l have only game failed bc of lag a hand full of time in the years that l have played, personally l do think its those with slower connection speeds that limits the game to work for all bc if johnny in boston has slow DSL and can only load gameplay for mike in florida with blazing fast internet just makes since to me but lm just a paramedic that can look at you in 5 seconds decide what meds to give you or procedure that is going to keep you breathing and not bleeding all over my newly moped floor by my rookie (please dont bleed on rooks floor he will just have to mop it all over again back at the station.)

Sorry you were mistaken that l wanted what you mentioned just a couple hours later is awesome here and there not the same time all the time and when have you seen the servers go down for maintence and come up and go back down 30 min later? seriously how often, sounds like you have alot, and l mean alot from your comment...

I have not seen it very often, but i for one would be working in a way as well to have contingencies. or to stay with your analogy you used earlier... if you biggest issue with a guy bleeding out is that you have to mop the floor afterwards... bring a second mop.

sorry you are mistaken again, but its ok l wont judge.. my biggest concern to correct your mistake is to not let you bleed all over my floor so the rook doesn't have to mop it up not that lm concerned about moping up your blood, so no second mop will be needed.. and have a great day bc as tantalizing as this conversation has been l have been up for 24 hours and l need some sleep. night night kiddo.

Lag issues for Wayfinder Server were fixed after the Thursday hot-fix, but then whatever you did today/Friday brought all the lag back, to include a wicked server disconnect with a screen shut-down I had never seen before.

Does not matter what quest you do! every min you can get a 30 to 40 sec pause! everyone in the party stops moving monsters pause as well! This has been going on all weekend this lag started on Friday 4/1/2016. on Thursday 3/31/2016 we were lag free questing just fine.
This lag all so happens in town as well. every other min. 10 sec 5 sec, sometimes longer. You can not tell me you did not notice this pausing like lag going on all weekend.
I understand we are a low population server how ever you took my money and others to play this game! We paid to play this game just like high population servers did we want support to our issues as well!
I understand that the team had one heck of a week moving the game and forum over to your new data center. and you should have got some R&R for the weekend.
Now please for the love of the game and your jobs BTW repair Wayfinder It's Monday 4/4/2016
If you want our help give us the right IP so we can run winMTR and report. please give us the info right here in this forum. we just want to play lag free you want feed back give us the tools to do so. I can't search the forum for any topic because it errors out when you search.
I would all so like to point out my deneth large quiver will not auto gather arrows any more I tossed the old one a picked up a new one and the arrows do not auto gather. I can clk the gather button and the arrows populate just auto gather stopped working.
This started after the first day of the data center move. oddly my wifes account or should I say toon does not have this issue.
I am sure I will get flamed for asking for wayfinder help. How ever I did not cuss call people names and or try to start some kind of war over who gets repaired first. I just would like to play this game lag free just like the other servers.
please get to it team don't kill our population off we all need players accounts to move forward so we can all grow.

Over the weekend I played a few times throughout each day, solo and in pugs and the lag was almost non-existant. Sarlona each time, an hour or two at the most each session. From noon to midnight each on Saturday and Sunday, pacific timezone. All with the same toon, Seikojin (bard lvls 6-9). When we had a full group, it was running the last part of deleras (thrall of the necromancer). No warlocks if that means anything.
Quests ran during that time however: Most of three barrel cove, tangleroot, deleras.
I did notice other people hitching (not rubberbanding back, just slide (not move), pause, slide, pause) when we got to instant yellow alerts in some areas.
All heroic elite.
