I seem to have lost our post or it is buried deep in forums so posting new one.
ok, moomooprinces. thx for t he shards and info. I managed, finally, to get it done with everbright on the weapon and +3 shard. I am still confused as to how I get the shards for future. I am assuming that I will need to get some crafting levels but am not at all sure. if you have any time at some point could you explain that part to me? if not then I can try to work through the guids someone mentioned in this post. anyway thx again to you and all others who helped as well. at worst case I have one everbright weapon made
the +3 enhancement bonus shards can be gotten by deconstructing a piece of equipment that already has a +3 enhancement bonus. (or +4, etc.)
you can usually buy the cheapest thing you can find on the auction house and liquid knife that bonus off of it.
in order to create the magical shards that supply prefix/suffix effects, you do need to have crafting levels and essence to make higher level shards. You can also buy them on the AH at a ripoff price, or have someone make the shard for you. most crafters are willing to do it for free, since shard creation is what earns them crafting xp.
as a piece of equipment can normally have only 1 prefix, 1 suffix and an enhancement bonus (there are exceptions), you will need to again disjunct the weapon, clearing it of its effects, and start over from the blank.
your original thread is 'in need of an everbright weapon' and its about 10 threads down past your new one (depending on your sort order).
The links to Gingerspyces crafting tutorials are there, and well worth checking out.
Crafting seems so complicated when its typed, and seeing it in action makes it a lot more simpler.

WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING
Crafting is a terrible grind.
My advice,
Anything that is level 11 or less that you loot, DECONSTRUCT. You can gain levels as you deconstruct, and getting to level 30 just by deconstructing is pretty easy and painless.
Caveats: If you like the loot, keep it and use it. If you think the loot is super uber but not your cup of tea, put it on the AH. If you need platinum, then sell them. Although you do get something like 5% of the base value when you deconstruct. (That might depend on your haggle level, but I have never tested that personally.)

Crafting is a terrible grind.
Getting to level 100 is not so much fun.

Getting to level 150 is really not so much fun.
My other advice, just deconstruct loot and build up a lot of essences and when you need something, just ask someone who spent the hours and hours and hours to level up in crafting to make you something, have the essences, and maybe throw in some extra essences. I wish I would have done this instead of going down the grindy hole of crafting. I have actually easily gotten my characters on multiple servers to level 80 or so, with a lot of that by just deconstructing and then wait for Cordovan to make a crafting bonus weekend and then go to town. Which has only happened twice in the last three years.
Crafting takes away A LOT of time from playing the game.
Back to crafting. Now, once you get to a point where deconstructing items is not moving you up in crafting, then you want to make shards to get crafting XP.
There are TWO shard machines. one is for BOUND to your account one is for UNBOUND and you can give to others. As I recall, to get to level 40 you pretty much have to always use the BOUND to crafting device.
As you level you MUST MAKE THESE as you will need them, and you might as well get crafting XP when you do it, SHARDS OF POTENTIAL. Shards of potential tend to burn up stacks of lesser essences.
Friendly reminder. The junk shards you make to get XP, can be deconstructed to get back some of the essences you burned up to make them.
If you are going to go on a massive get crafting XP day, you will need plenty of inventory space or a gargantuan green bag or a huge green bag. Then, when you fill it all up you get to do an even worse yucky grind, deconstruction of shards. Talk about going mind dead and body numbing.
Once you get to level 50 or so, you will probably do most of your crafting XP leveling at the UNBOUND shard device.
Remember, always be making Shards of Potential on both the BOUND crafting device and UNBOUND crafting device.
If you like to be efficient, you shop at each device to see which one gives you better XP for the time and essences spent.
Once you get to level 80, you will begin to notice you need a bazillion essences.
ENJOY!!!!!

Having just maxed out my crafting levels in february, I cant stress enough that moomooprincess might even be understating things a bit.
It is far worse than a terrible grind. MTV had a terrible grind. Crafting becomes an OC laden frustratingly terrible grind and a large financial burden, especially those final 20 levels. Also make sure you get your cannith favor to unlock the vendor that sells the crafting xp bonus potions. Or save up essences until you have a solid half hour or so of crafting, and buy the 100% crafting xp bonus potion from the store.
Having to level up without deconstruction was even worse (they have only recently fixed deconstruction, which was bugged from august to january).
Also invest in a very large ingrediants bag. Not the in-game ones, I mean the ones you can only buy from the store.
I've joked with Gingerspyce before that I was unsure whether I wanted to shake his hand or punch him in the nose for turning me on to crafting.
Im still on the fence, but leaning towards shaking his hand now that the memories are fading.
If you have the wearwithall to do it, its worth it, but expect some frustrating days yelling at the prices of essence on the auction house, and the jerks who post it low and bid up their own merch to jack the price up. As a tip, I've often found very nice people willing to sell me essence at a fair price by just asking around in the harbor. 250pp per greater and 50pp per lesser is a fair price.

thx again. for now I am just doing deconstruction and storing ingredients. I bought a gargantuan bag and working on filling it. I will ask one of you guys to craft for me, if you are willing, and have no problem giving extra ingredients for doing so.
new topic: is there a way to mark a thread so I can always find it even if search never works again? if I miss one 10 spots below what I post I will never ever find it deep into forum unless search starts working otherwise. :(
You need to find someone on your server to craft for you since items cannot be transferred to different servers easily.
Bookmarking threads in your browser is likely the best and easiest way.

I'd suggest that anyone deconstruct ~any~ useless loot of any level - trash is trash, whether ML 1 or 21(+). Higher the item, the more essences you get. And Essence will sell (on the AH) for ~far~ more than you can pawn a trash item for.
(Even true F2P, with only 1 AH slot available, can sell a fat stack of lesser essences for a nice chunk of plat! if you price them for somewhere ~about~ [75 bid/90 quick] over a weekend, they'll fly off the shelf, and that's 50/60 plat each in your pocket.)
Another pro-deconstruction point is that you receive some pp for certain items in the deconstruction process.
Be sure to equip the best haggle items you have before deconstructing.

Another thing to keep in mind is you can get some useful items from the house C favor vendor once you get 50 cannith favor.

The deconstruction elixirs have to be on the character or in a bag on the character. If they are in the Crafting Bank, you will receive no PP.
