The lag and rubber banding were really bad this last weekend on Sarlona.

I also had toons of banding in both the Marketplace and the Harbor.

Game was unplayable at times. Lag deaths continue.

Agreed.

The "The game is all better!" declarations of last week were a little premature.

The game is as bad if not worse then it has ever been.

Death by 1000 lags continues.

Agreed. I think the servers did improve a bit but everyone took that as they were completely fixed. This induced an increased server population / strain - likely causing the disastrous results we experienced this weekend.

My advice to anybody wanting to still play is to tr. You'll be able to experience first hand whether or not the lag is fixed, while still being able to complete content in a reasonable time.

Yes, the lag does seem to be returning. My partner and I TR'd, thinking that perhaps the lower level quests might not be as laggy... also, it was just time to TR anyways. For the most part, last week, things were running pretty well with only occasional lag.

However, now we are back to severe game-locking lag for anywhere from 10 seconds to a minute or more. The only good news is when these lag-locks happen the mobs also seem to be lagged, so the only real death we've experienced is typically due to traps going off and killing us even though we can't actually see them going off.

The odd thing with the lag is that it seems to be very intermittent. We have had one quest run smooth as can be, finish the quest portal back into a public area and lag-lock just trying to walk around. The next quest may be smooth, or it may be lag-locked, but it seems to be one or the other. I wonder if perhaps some servers are still not properly allocated or configured correctly, thus you can have terrible lag depending on where in the server cluster your particular quest has been instantiated.

The lag is very frustrating for everyone, but what is more frustrating is the wall of silence from Turbine about it. Over in LotRO-land they are getting some detailed responses from their Executive Producer about what is being done, here? Not so much. We have had some small posts about servers being restarted to enable monitoring (which hopefully doesn't add lag itself!) or about networking updates, but seemingly nothing significant.

I think this silence from Turbine is what is hurting the most, in a vacuum of information speculation will run rampant! :(

Sadly, I think it has already been affecting things, the forums seem a lot slower than they used to and even in our small guild not as many people are logging in as frequently as they used to... I really hope this issue is fixed soon, I have so many lives I want to try still!

Would you rather they tell you what they are doing to fix the problem or would you rather they put that effort into actually fixing the problem? Cuz ya only get one.

Both? Obviously if LotRO can do it there should be no reason that DDO can't! ;)

Even it if is "all hands on deck" at Turbine over this issue, the people who can fix the issue are working on it, the people responsible for managing the community should be informing us... these are not mutually exclusive tasks.

Why do you think we only get one option?

Non-disclosure agreement.

What about the NDA?

Unless you are implying that the Players Council is being given information about lag that the general population is not?

I am implying that everybody needs to just relax and things will work themselves out

I am relaxed, but also tired of the lag... I am not going anywhere, I am not quitting, I am just biding my time and hoping they fix the issue.

Which, hopefully may be tomorrow as Turbine has some maintenance planned to fix their environment and game performance! :D

Would be pretty sad and asinine if Turbine were giving PC members info in the lag and data move department that they are not to the general populace.....kind of implies only the PC members are worth talking to and the rest of us can kiss their behinds.

Really this kind of tech info should not be hid in some "special people" forum/board.

Just to say, don't know more about the lag than anyone else. Just other stuff that implies other things.

Well it hasn't got any better from where I stand and I have been playing heroic with 2 others sometimes 3 of us, been avoiding any type of EE as it's just not playable and there been no solid info given except some "we're fiddling around the bush" side stepping.

Past experience tells me not to hold my breath too.

Sounds like Sarlona is still laggy. Ty for testing the waters so I don't have to.

What a pile of BS.

You know nothing more then anyone else so quit pretending you do.

Turbine needs to pull their heads out of their sandbox and get this resolved.
