Any official word on why the forum search function is not working or when it may return?

Any time I have tried to perform a search in the last few days, I receive:

This is on multiple devices in different locations, so I'm fairly sure it isn't an issue on my end.

Seems strange that there is nothing in the DEV Tracker or elsewhere that I can find(difficult to 'search' for an answer when 'search' isn't working).

The good news might be this: it's not just happening to you, but to others as well. Strangely search did work for me yesterday, but doesn't today or the day before yesterday.

unfortunately I have to sell that one as the good news, as I haven't found a work-around or fix yet either :)

They may have temporarily disabled it.

I suspect that the search index needs to be rebuilt since something changed when they moved to the new data center ~March 15th.

I was actually gonna bump my thread about "View Forum Posts" being broken with this new development, but had the same problem Searching for it.

Same response from that, as well as searching for your own "Find Threads" link from the profile page...

Trying an 'Advanced Search' brings up the advanced search page, but hitting 'Search' still procs the error response.

There hasn't been time to investigate this, but something got messed up when we migrated DDO.com. Will look into it as soon as we can.

This one has cropped up before & should be fixable.

leads right back here on the first hit. :P

Half the battle is knowing what to use as your keyword or phrase, else you end up with a bunch of irrelevant topics. This one also turned up as another recent hit:

On other forum software, the usual issue after a move like that is that the search index needs to be rebuilt.

This case looks like the database server moved to a new IP.

It did work following the move. It stopped working at their last planned outage.
