View Full Version : AutoHotkey macros after Update 29

So i have a number of macros that i love to use, written in AutoHotkey. I went to use my Litany of the Dead riddle solver macro a few days ago and found that it no longer works. I did a little investigating and it appears AutoHotkey (and other macro programs too i would expect) is no longer able to send mouse clicks or keystrokes to the DDO window. In the past DDO prevented mouse clicks & keystrokes from being sent to inactive (minimized or not "in front") windows, which I can understand to an extent. However, it appears since update 29 you can't send anything to DDO, even when that windows is active. I've tried sending keystrokes directly to the window by name, as well as just clicking the mouse button haphazardly to wherever pointer happens to be in any window. It works everywhere except DDO.
So, does anyone know of a work-around? I'm not doing anything that breaks TOS with my macros, and i miss them!
Thanks

My macros were still working sunday. I have macros which redirect numpad numbers to hotbar #2 and also one for my left mouse buttons to do various things. I don't remember using the numpad ones, but I definitely used the mouse ones.

Interesting. I haven't changed anything on my end other than the new ddo update. Are you using autohotkey or another macro program?
Thanks for the response btw

I occasionally have problems with Windows doing weird, head-scratch-inducing things with the DDO window--it might have been that.

I figured it out. It as something to do with weather i launch the game via the official Turbine launcher or the python launcher script.
When i launch the game with the Turbine Launcher, autohotkeys doesn't work for me. Also, i have a program called "Power Menu" which allows me to minimize things to the taskbar. When i luanch the game via the Turbine launcher, that program is unable to minimize DDO to the taskbar.
When i launch the game with the python launching script, both my hotkeys and my Power Menu minimizer work with DDO. I have no clue why... but there it is
