OK. So, after a long battle to get DDO configured on my mac with El Capitan so that my husband and I can separately log on to our own accounts and have it run correctly without having separate installs, and after a couple of great months of play with everything working great, I cannot launch DDO. Haven't been able to since Feb 29th/Mar1st... It starts to run the pre-game scripts, indicates it is loading new screens and such, and then I get an error.... "An update error occurred: Unknown Error: E_FAIL" Anyone else having this issue??? I submitted a trouble ticket and the folks at Turbine are working it, but was wondering if anyone here has had the problem.... REALLY don't want to have to download the massive file again.... but tired of not being able to play, too.... Thoughts???
Thanks!

Interesting.... mine doesn't have a number of string of alphanumeric characters after it.... which was the first thing the folks at Turbine asked me for.... Just the text "E_FAIL".... Frustrating.

Can you open http://www.turbine.com ?
I can access ddo.com or myaccount.turbine.com but turbine.com just doesn't load.
Also can't even get installer to download because of that.

I know this may seem cliché, but did you try reinstalling ddo? I still use mountain lion and dont have may issues.
Also, if i recall the 29 is when the server crashed. I have issues that started on that day as well. Like the game not closing correctly and just goes to app not responding when i close it.

Have tried to download it to my computer I've been troubleshooting, and my husband tried to download it to his MAC laptop, and neither would download.... started but then gave an error....

Based on your descriptions, it would sound like you are having intermittent network problems.
There was an update released February 29th for the Anniversary event. It involved a very sizable download. You can't get the update to install, you can't download the game, you are unable to reach Turbine websites. The computers are both displaying these problems. At this point I would strongly suspect the household connection itself. Maybe check out speedtest.net? It runs a long enough test that you could spot failures as they occur, if they do.
Oh -and the game is down for a data center move today, so trying to do anything with DDO 3/8/16 will result in connection failures anyway.
