I've been feeling lately like the old annoying lady in the neighborhood that keeps telling the younger kids to shut up because back in my day and it's there for a reason and just get off my lawn if you don't like it! I don't know when exactly I crossed over that vet line, but I surely did, and I was internally bemoaning my acknowledged DDO old lady status (even though by the standards of some of you, I'm still a young'un. I mean, I started on Korthos, for Pete's sake.)
That being said, my husband and I were drumming up people to play the Amazing Race with us (spoiler: it was amazing), and Rastelin joined our group to ask us about it. He was on a toon I didn't recognize, but he recognized me, and he reminded me of the time he ran a VoN6 with me like 5 years ago and I fell off the bridge. I'd completely forgotten about that (though frankly, if there is a surface in DDO you can fall off of, I've done it) and burst out laughing.
And then I got to thinking. I come on the forums a lot, and I run around in game a lot, and there are so many of you guys that I have grouped with and talked to during my DDO journey. Fawn taught me all kinds of tricks about everything and saved my butt a lot of times during a stretch when our TRs were coinciding. Teth allowed me to tag along in his xp wake more than once. Astrican has joined me lots of times for various pugs and also saved my bacon. (You may have gathered that I need a lot of saving.) Grahm entertained us through several runs on the TR train, as a bard should do, obviously. Et cetera, et cetera....there are so many of you that I have these weird random little memories with, and all of them together make up a part of my fun here in the game.
So, I may be a cranky old lady now, but the flip side of it is that I've gotten to experience all kinds of pixel fun (not THOSE kinds, you jerks) with some incredibly cool people. And for that I thank you all.
Now I shall return from my nostalgia and go back to being the **** that you all know me best as :)
