View Full Version : Overwhelmed by all the Legendary Greensteel options, can someone break it down for me

I'm nervously looking at crafting my first Legendary Greensteel weapon, and I know that there is a best of the best option to choose from, but I can't tell with all the various information out there exactly what would provide the best boost for my character.

I am a 2 Rogue/6 Bard/12 Warlock Swashbuckler/Enlightened Spirit. Most of the time I use 1HFighting + buckler, keep Eldritch Aura going, and spam Maximized and Intensified Eldritch Burst and Spirit Blasts. If I get into tricky situations I switch to Chain and kite the enemies until they are manageable.

I have heard that Earth/Earth/Earth is the way to go, as it will add an acid DOT to my aura and blasts along with decent acid damage each swing.

Is this right? Does anyone have any better suggestions given the state of the game today?

Triple Earth was way overpowerful (pretty much instant death on everything), then they nerfed it 90%

However if you are a Great One pact, it still might be worthwhile.

I am indeed Great One pact. Focused more on Light/alignment damage (for Utterdark) than acid though.

caster stat stick... maybe an sp item. Maybe a black pudding item if you want to have some fun. Other then that; meh.

So they aren't that much of an improvement, DPS-wise, over Thunderforged Touch of Flames/Shadows and tier 2 Wrath of flames/shadows?

Last I checked the melee are swinging triple good and that is what I hear them crafting that or the min II variety.

Chatter on portal beaters was LGS > TF, but I'm caster atm so its hersay.

Did some basic calculations, LGS is more damage (maybe ~100 per hit), but not much. I would use Damage Oracle (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/466370-DPS-Oracle-A-complete-DPS-calculator-for-every-build-and-blade) to check these results for your build, because they will vary.

If you have an open accessory spot you can increase the crit damage of your pact damage with an acid crit damage boost for each tier.

You want earth/ethereal/dominion for each tier to get the max 35% acid crit damage boost or you can make just a tier 2 which provides a 30% acid crit damage boost.

They do a bit more damage.
Missing 35% fort bypass is the main reason I'd stick with TF.
On a TWF LGS in mainhand, TF in offhand might be an option (not sure if that's better than TF + ToEE though).
