Lost tomes on TR

Last night I did an epic TR followed immediately by a heroic TR. I noticed all my tomes were now gone. I had +3's on everything and +4 on DEX and WIS. I put in a ticket, waited about 30 minutes for a response, and when a GM contacted me it took about 30 seconds for him to apologize and say he would mail me a +4 Supreme tome to make up for the inconvenience. I was quite pleased with the resolution to the issue. Nice job by the GM!


As an aside, the character I TR'd has done 8 epic past lives and 24 heroic past lives. During all that time he has found +3 tomes for everything and +4's for DEX and WIS. It has always seemed like I have little luck getting tomes for him. Are his tomes about what others have with that many past lives? Or is he way behind the curve?

Are you sure they were lost? They only kick in incrementally at the levels they apply. You won't see +3 on a lvl 1 toon.

My tome luck on my TR train character (no epic PL, but ~30 heroic) was so bad I finally broke down and just bought them. I had +2s everywhere, and +3 INT from her first life when Reaver's Fate was "end game". Never could luck into anything else.

Even since I bought tomes, still have only ever looted 1 +4. Not including the "free" +5 we got with halloween a year or so back.

Are you sure they were lost? They only kick in incrementally at the levels they apply. You won't see +3 on a lvl 1 toon.

If you look in the Feats tab, you can see them all at level one. They won't kick in until you hit the right level, but they are all listed.

How to avoid the bug:

When you log out, then exit the game. I recommend rebooting your computer as well and letting it sit for a moment after to start up in case any pushed web updates might interupt DDO while you're leveling back up.

It sucks not to have all your skill points from the INT tomes not applying as you level.

If you rush your ER/TR or just ER with one log out, then this can happen. Re-log sometimes fixes, but if it's after you applied all your skill points, you'll have to LR to get them to apply.

Basically you'll know if your ability tomes are applying at level 3. At level 3 check your ability stats. If not applied at level 3, then stop. Re-log to see if it then applies before preceeding to level.

The bug seems to occur if there is lag when reloading all the character data, or if it hangs to the point where it takes several attempts to reload the character after the TR/LR.

Thanks for this info. I was going to get a tome of PRR or MRR from the Remnant trader but I forgot which ones I already had so I didn't get any. Will these show up there as well? I could not find where they were listed so I just gave up.

One friend didn't get his heroic XP applied to him, so he was stuck in the land between on a ETR. Literally could not do anything. Called support, filed tickets everywhere (except in-game) and was told to submit it in-game. I understand getting support means you pay money recently, but for such a bug that is obviously Turbine's fault, they were screwed.

Another friend had +5/6 on all stats, and didn't get them back. So, that's a ridiculous amount of effort wasted since all were looted/bought in-game, and not in the store.

Several people in the past couple weeks have not had their ED XP given. So, they're sitting with no levels in any EDs, but 6 million karma in 3 of the spheres.

The button to submit a ticket doesn't even show up unless you're VIP/Paid up.

I lost all mine and didn't even realize it till lvl 15 when i checked for my plus 3 tomes to kick in.

Usually you do get an answer and a heart to redo your tr which seems to work most of the time.

logged in this morning and sent another ticket, waited another hour with no response so I said screw it after reading forum fixes and did a LTR. That did absolutely nothing except waste a heart. I reported that too.

About to log in now and hoping someone has sent me a message.
