Hi,

I am stumped. I have a graphics issue. About a week ago, my DDO game went from operating perfectly to jerky movements. I can't solve it, the game is unplayable. Any help is greatly appreciated at this point.

The screen jerks all over the place, running back and forth is jerky. Turning is a nightmare. I'll be facing to the north and suddenly I am facing East. I will try and swing to the north and be facing south west or something. Very frustrating.

I have gone to the trouble of:
- uninstalling and re-installing the game twice,
- every graphic option from ultra high to low
- I have tried every resolution
- windowed and full screen modes
- reset the graphics umteen times
- Tried the repair option on the game starter a number of times
- worked through all the options
- poured through the forums and followed a heap of fixes that fixed similar issues
- checked my internet speeds
- re-installed (graphics and mouse) drivers
- re-installed direct x.
- tested every other game I have from MMOs to single games like Skyrim. All worked fine.
- replaced my mouse

PS I would have posted a dx diag but I get an error when I try and post it. No idea why

Can you post a screen shot of the error you get when trying to dxdiag?

I see "re-installed (graphics and mouse) drivers" but I don't see uninstalled gfx drivers and installed older version. Frankly I'd try a couple of versions ago.

If that doesn't work, assume it's 'your turn' for this DDO update and try the following:

"worked through all the options": under trouble-shooting did you set your max frame rate down to 60 or even 30? Drop your engine speed and connection speed.

Under UI options: check show network status display as well as under key mapping set the key for show frame rate. Keep these on always while trouble shooting. Post the results to us

Set the game to 800x600 directx9 and set everything to the lowest possible setting or even better turn it off, all at once.

If, once the game looks truely horrible, it plays OK, start turning features on one by one, its laborious, but sometimes you can find the setting, for me in the distant past I've had shadows and another time post processing hurting my gameplay - hot fixes/patches set it right eventually.

Report any results you get and good luck!

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.
I did adjust frame rates, try the different direct X versions and the turning the graphics options all down to low. I will try it all again though, willing to try or retry anything at this stage. I don't remember if I tried 800x600 in direct x 9, I may have tried it in 10 or 11, so I will try that. I didn't try the older drivers as it was working fine on the current driver update before game went 'bad', but I will definitely try that as well. Thanks again.
