Handwraps taking damage from oozes?

Just ran Creeping Death (again, ran yesterday but.... anyway), halfway through I noticed that my handwraps were broken. Switched to another pair, after a single fight against 3 puddings, they had significant damage (126/150 durability). Tried again with different wraps of another material (gold!) and it happened again; I have tried leather, cloth, gold, silver and adamantine.

Is this WAI? IF so, it's really annoying as I have probably thrown away 50 pairs of everbright wraps for being useless.

Is it just these puddings in new content or is it all puddings, oozes and jellies everywhere?

As you've noticed; Everbright Wraps have always been one of the most useless/pointless items of random loot so maybe the Devs have decided to make them useful?

I haven't tried anywhere else, just Creeping death.

Perhaps this is step one of turning handwraps into normal weapons with all the benefits (and drawbacks) that entails. :)

I`ve noticed this for a while now. It has really stood out to me in the Earth level part of TOEE Part 2.

Axiomatic or Anarachic would both still be useless against them.

You can be lawful neutral and use them just fine. Grave wrappings are evil, not anarchic.
