This is a positive thread. I think the community and the people working on our content could use a positive thread.
Please post nice and positive things here. Post negative stuff in another thread.

I'll start it off.

The game has been fun to play for along time. I am optimistic about the new content and intent to produce a player wanted end game. Appreciate the thought and consideration being put into the new content and the work being done for us. Also like that Legendary Greensteel will be based somewhat on heroic and look forward to making several items eventually. Looking forward to playing to play all the new raids and content.

This post is positive and negative at once:

In spite of all the .. less than sound dev decisions... I have stuck with the game. I enjoy it so much and hate to see it go down this road. But u29 is looking promising. We will see.

I'm positive that even after several years, I still enjoy DDO in so many different ways, and to this day continue finding completely new ways to enjoy & experience what it has to offer.

The new "Raid Runes" system is a massive positive step forward in creating a new raid-based end game for those players (including me!) that want it.

I tried playing another game - Dragon Age:Inquisition on the Xbox......good god was that game slow - just the sword swinging took forever....compared to DDO.....the active combat component of this game is gold. Keep that and you will keep me.

(as an aside - I understand that in a console game with all the combos you have to parse things out a bit so people can hit the combos but still it was sooooo slow).

I know that Devs are secretly thinking about these things:
- increasing BtC bank space
- making sortable TR cache

So, THANK YOU for these thoughts.

I have a lot of fun at the moment wielding my collection of dwarfen axes again. Wasn't expecting to play a dwarfen tempest again after I TRed my last one years ago. But now it is time to slice and dice again.

Sometimes I just like playing with the kobold sound board

From exploding barrels of ham to buttons of winning, there have been things like that in the game that invariably make me smile and show a welcome sense of humor in design.

I feel like this is a good place to put this, I've encountered problems I've needed a gm's help with twice in the last year. Both times i submitted a ticket, I received help promptly and they tried to go above and beyond.
The first time (last spring iirc), I was running cannith challanges with good friends and I DC'd while we finished. I didn't get an xp or ingredients, so I submitted a ticket, while fully expecting to have to run the quest again. To my surprise, help arrived within 5 minutes, and not only did the GM (can't remember who it was, maybe +luckyluke? sorry, friend, I still remember the gesture!) provide the ingredients I missed out on (we figured out how many based off my friend's reward), but he offered to both give me a completion and the xp I missed out on.
The second time was more recent, a friend DC'd while I bestowed a ToEE guest pass on them, it ended up not registering and so I submitted a ticket. Within a couple minutes +shocker came to the rescue, corrected the issue, and asked if there were any questions or if there was anything else he could help with.

10/10 service and attitude.

Let's see, something else that's nice. I really appreciate the variety of methods one can achieve Turbine points in the game, it helps open options up for everyone on the monetary spectrum without feeling unfair to either side of it. This is rather unique to the game, I've seen it bring the community together through understanding, and it's also a cool throwback to the essence of Dungeon's and Dragons, not everyone who played could afford the player's handbooks, Monstrous Manual, etc, so they were shared between friends for a better overall experience.

I could keep going on about stuff I like about this game because frankly, there's enough to keep me playing for hours every week, these are just a couple observations that are often overlooked.

I originally played the game in 2006. I played until the level cap hit 20. I quit playing sometime after The Reaver's Refuge was released (not because I didn't liek the game - I just didn't have time to play it then). I recently (April 2015) joined back as a VIP with the 15-month sale based on the recommendation of a friend. Keep in mind how much content changed there. I left just after monks were introduced and before Druids and Artificers were included. I missed the unveiling of House Cannith ... guilds ... guild airships ... cosmetics ... companions ... ALL of epic play ... reincarnations and past lives ... augments ...

When I first came back, I was completely overwhelmed. I almost instantly regretted my decision. All of what I had that was good in the world was now **** and I had all of these new things to learn about. Heck - Deadly wasn't even a thing.

But I stuck with it. I suffered through a lot of deaths and a lot of "holy cow is my character awful now compared to what I remember" moments.

I love the game. I love epic play. I love destinies. I love all of the new (to me) things like druids and artificers and the entire list I mentioned above. I love the music in What Goes Up. I love the airship quest in Three Barrel Cove. I love Spies in the House and not just for the XP.

When I see so many negative threads (and I do understand why people are upset about things like Mortal Fear and class passes) I am amazed with how much GREAT stuff we players have gotten in the time between when I quit and when I returned.

This is the only PC game I play because it's that good (to me). I log on daily and enjoy it every time. I hope I still get to have that enjoyment ten years from now when I may finally get my first "completionist."

Jsut this past weekend, I completed my first Epic Past Life and I was super excited. I know that the veterans of the game have done way more and played way more than I have but I was super pumped to have taken the time to get a character that far and now I'm trying to get a second past life before u29 and stoked about it.

While I acknowledge some issues with the game, I'm enjoying it enough to keep paying for my VIP membership and bbuying turbine points for things to improve my characters. The game has really come a long way and it's just super fun.

Just some random "positivish" thoughts about the game:

The VAST majority of people I encounter in game are friendly and always willing to help a new player (or someone unfamiliar with the quest/raid being run) out.
The new rune raid reward system looks very promising.
My Clerics no longer have to be healbots. Heck, there's not much use for healbots in this game any more (which I consider "positive").
Buddy XP Bonus was a great idea. Hope it comes back more frequently (or even better, permanently).

I think the stability of Sev being here, and sticking here, has been a huge improvement for DDO - for the devs working at DDO as well as the player base. DDO has craved a consistency of vision for years and it appears we finally have it.

I occasionally look around for other MMOs on the market, but there doesn't appear to be anything worth a darn. I had a brief love affair with GW 2 a couple of summers ago, but its appeal soon faded.

While I definitely think DDO could be improved in many, many ways, I'm still quite happy with it, and enjoy playing it.

I had a problem with my order from DDO Market.

A customer service agent named Rothgar had the whole thing fixed in under half an hour, and this included the 29 minutes I spent on hold waiting for the next available representative.

I'm basically going down the same path at the moment. Very well said. There are things that need to be fixed, which is the case in every game, at every moment, but overall, the feeling of Dungeons and Dragons is there for me. It reminds me of my childhood, when I spent hours every day poring over the manuals, tweaking my characters, preparing for the weekend's adventures. I feel like a magical hero when I play. And I feel like a schmuck when I overreach my hero status. Which is fun. There is a reason I've been a VIP since inception, even when I was playing less than a week a year. It's because I wanted to support something I appreciate, something that brought happiness to me just knowing it was there; even if I couldn't log in at that exact moment.

So, nice work Turbine.

I am really not happy with a lot of current and recent design decisions, but in all earnest: DDO is the best MMORPG I know, and trust me, I have been investigating into that A LOT. And regarding the contemporary market it will probably be the last with a semblance of complexity and (really, donĀ“t laugh, just look at most titles in comparison) difficulty. The only competition for me personally has been TSW - but boy, if you think DDO has a clunky UI... :P That game is basically unplayable without community generated mods.

I've played DDO for 8 years and I plan to play another 8 or more. The content is massive, the character customization is second to none, and the friends I have here--along with myself--are ravenous fans. Whenever I see even talks of new updates I get super stoked--like, winning the lottery on Christmas stoked. Riding a dragon whilst dressed as Batman and brandishing a tommy gun stoked.

I still say for the 10th anniversary instead of having a "gimme gimme" attitude, we chip in and send the DDO behind-the-scenes team a bunch of beer and pizza--maybe a stripper.

Despite the fact that real life has severely detracted from my game time, I do try to get in some weekly.

I've been there since before the start, and I'm still loving it.

It's been in my life for around ten years and I do miss it when I'm AFK for a while...

Had a whole lot of fun in DDO. Met a lot of friends here. Some gone and some still around. Its a great way to blow off some steam when I get home from work. I enjoy the content (old and new). I'll be a DDO player as long as the game exists. I recall my first raid--Tempest, my first jaunt into Redwillow, Ghost of Perdition, VON3, and Haunted Halls. And one great memory was with a raid group of friends when the Market Tent was sucked into a vortex. Keep at it Devs. You can't make everyone happy...and some people (gamers) I think will just never be happy. This is the best game I've ever played...well, except a RPG tabletop....called, what was it.....Dungeons and Dragons.

The new "Raid Runes" system is a massive positive step forward in creating a new raid-based end game for those players (including me!) that want it.
I agree that it is a positive improvement to the "20 list" which existed before. The issue then becomes: Will this new system be back-ported into older content, or will older content be ignored again? The "ignored again" model is, unfortunately, the status quo.
