LD and wolf builds: do special attacks work?

Pulverizer doesn't work since you are hand to hand. It did/does go off what you have equipped for the others, I recall using volcanoes edge in wolf form but it's been a very long time might have been fixed by now.

This would support it being based on weapon in hand and not the "pierce/bludgeon" from being a wolf?

If you have the right weapon equipped in your main hand: yes.

Pulverizer?
No.

Wolf dmg is pierce / slash; bear dmg is slash / blunt. Pulverizer works with neither form.
