I've seen a scattered medley of posts about the Thief Acrobat T-3 ability "Sweeping Strikes." One of the points commonly addressed is what is the actual formula of the DC.

I was puzzled about this myself because I bought the ability in the tree and had a wonky DC number showing up when I hovered over the ability on my action bar.

The formula listed in the T.A. tree is: 10 + Rogue Lvl + Dex mod (and presumably also Trip bonuses but this isn't specifically stated). The wiki still shows the old 1/2 rogue level in the formula.

My DC showed "54" despite the fact my listed DC should've been:

-> 10 + 20 (rog lvls) + 21 (Dex mod) + 8 (vertigo) + 1 (ship buff Trip) = 60

I must admit I'm not sure what math would give me a DC 54...??? I could see if one component wasn't being added.

Whatever the case I tested the cleave-like attack a dozen or so times by rounding up mobs in the explorer area of 3BC (epic norm) as well as vs. the yuan-ti and orc privateers in epic hard Garl's Tomb.

I was seeing consistent trips of nearly everyone in the sweep's reach, though sometimes the yuan-ti would have someone still standing out of a pack. I do believe snakes have a resistance to trips.

Either the DC formula needs to be looked at by the devs or the display accuracy is malfunctioning.

What I didn't expect is the trip lasts 3 seconds, no more no less, as a rule. I counted one-one-thousand, two-one-thousand, three-one-thousand. No matter the mob, they were always getting up in my sampling at 3 seconds. I had visions of those times I'm annoyingly knocked down and stuck waiting for 8 seconds to get up and doing the same to mob gangs, but nah, that isn't how this trip special attack works.

I'd be curious to know if anyone else testing this with a higher DC sees mobs on their back for much longer than the 3 sec.

The best way to test this sort of stuff is to go into PvP with a dualbox or buddy and record their save rolls. I know many of the displayed DCs (or their tooltip formulae) are incorrect. I specifically tested Mass Frog a while back, and there was a forum thread about some of the Warlock enhancements also being wrong.

Alas, I don't have an acrobat, so it's not easy for me to test.

My guess as to the math: 10+20(rog)+21(dex)+3(trip enhancements) = 54. your vertigo and guild ship buff are not being counted because they are for the trip feat. I'm assuming you have the trip enhancments.

The tooltip for sweeping strikes has been bugged since forever. Even after the rogue enhancement revamp. (example (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/459548-Sweeping-Strikes-__TYPO?))

Bit of thread Necromancy here, but I've been playing a rog/mnk mix with unbalancing strike and sweeping strikes together and, much like this fellow posted, I've noticed the trips never last more than a few seconds.. even when the mob is debuffed 10 balance!

The save/after-affect portion of the sweeping strikes trip definitely seems bugged and somehow or another the monsters seem to pretty much always jump back up right on the first balance check, even with a -10 at mid level ranges (not talking like epic stuff here, just Desert of Menacthun.)

Tested in PVP here (test (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/459548-Sweeping-Strikes-__TYPO?p=5983219&viewfull=1#post5983219))

Necroed the thread but still valid.
