I think we can all agree that there are some bugs, lag freezes and things not WAI in-game at the moment.
I think we also can all agree that the Dev team are not machines and don't have an infinite time to work between updates.

From what I see ingame and what I read on the forums, it seems the Dev priority is releasing new content, do class passes, AND THEN bug fixing with whatever little time is left (if any). Granted, bug fixing is probably a lot more boring than creating new content.

But given a choice, I would prefer to play existing content without problems rather than see new content. Bug fixes take time, ok : take the time you need.

So my suggestion is this : for an upcoming update, pause the new content and focus purely on :

- Bug stomping: ladder bug, slayer rares not spawning, those stringtableerror references, quests sometimes not updating properly, etc.
- Performance optimization, especially for areas prone to big lag freezes (thunderholme, defiler raid come to mind). I suppose completely getting rid of lag is impossible in a MMO, but i'm not talking "responses a bit delayed" here, but about the "frozen in place for 20+ seconds" problem.

And only then, resume work on new content. Because yeah of course, everyone loves new content, including me :)

But it is only my opinion, hence this poll. Maybe most will disagree with me and think new content should remain a N°1 priority. If so that's fine, the majority will have spoken.

And if the majority of players agree with this idea, maybe this "bug and lag slaying" update can become reality. Or at least, lead to put more work hours towards bug fixing.

Please give your opinion.

Rooting out bugs can take a lot of time.

And lag isnt in every case something that they can do anything about, since it may not be on their end.

I wholeheartedly agree. The "Official Known Issues" list is pages and pages long, and those are just the acknowledged bugs. There are plenty of other well-known bugs...

I agree, there is a relatively small dev team working to create new content all the time, and the bugs list just gets longer. I think a large percentage of the population would like to see this happen.

This is perhaps the third most requested item over the years.
Hasn't happened, and honestly never will.

I'd hold off with that "lag slaying" attitude because Severlin seems to be on a holy mission to destroy lag by any means possible:

- Redesign manyshot so it's not actually manyshot (check)
- Reduce the number of people allowed in a raid from 12 to 10. (to be decided)
If we keep going in this course Sev will finally close the game saying "No game, no lag".

Perhaps rephrase the "lag slaying" to: redesign of game engine to eliminate redundant calculations and see abilities can create more lag, move to a new datacenter, design new abilities with calculation cost in mind, properly document how each ability impacts the game both mechanic wise and processing wise.

It would be awesome, truly awesome, maybe even heroic to get rid off bugs in a big fashion. And I am positive that Turbine would like to do asap, if possible.
But I have given up hope, because this game is all in all most of the time still playable and I am quite sure they don't have the resources to tackle those bugs, neither staff nor money. Cause bug fixing doesn't sell like content does.

Would you pay extra money for bug fixes?
Maybe I would but it would be kind of embarrassing for Turbine to cash in on bugs they fabricated.
