Hello forumites,
With the very recent changes to 10k stars and doubleshot I have been contemplating new thrower builds. My thoughts were those with monk splits will be moving back to at least 6 monk in a build. My 12rog/6mnk/2pally still holds up fairly well but I think it may be possible to do more dps with a ranger split. A few I was thinking:
14monk/6ranger- maximizes doubleshot (save 5% from below split) and allows for sniper shot - 139% DS is what I calculated
15mnk/5rng - same as above but +5% DS. Not sure if that beats sniper shot every 6 seconds. Anyone confirm?
11mnk/6rng/3rog - adds the rogue for traps (if that's your thing) also allows for shadow dodge +3 dex.

Doing some calculations the monk14/ranger6 is only slightly ahead of my current build w/o consideration of mortal fear. It's about 5-15% more dps than my current split. I need some other throwers minds to help me with my dps calc and see if they are getting similar numbers. I tested the numbers on T3 TF with mortal but I only counted force damage and not the half health proc. The math is a little sloppy when trying to calculate sneak attack with deception bonuses with a chance of 4 extra shots. LD was the destiny I used from calcs as it seems to vibe best with the thrower now.

14mnk/6rng - 139% DS - 179 ranged power (full blitz and 10k w/42 wisdom)
12rog/6mnk/2pal - 69% DS - 199 RP and over quadruple the sneak attack (320ish)

I know there is much more to throwers then DS and SA but those are the main changes between rogue and ranger splits in terms of dps.

I havent looked into any bard throwers yet, doubt I will as the numbers seem higher with monk. Saves, dps and survivability (tied bard and monk maybe).

Please discuss and share your insight. I am looking for a new build as I am getting bored of the one I have now.
