Good morning,

I have been gone for almost 2 years and just got back in. I changed my DC based wizard into a warlock, because wizard felt totally borked. My gear wasn't even close to optimal, no greensteel, only a few epics and most of it was lvl 18-24 normal gear.

What build should I be doing to get to epic elites, I have been playing warlock for the past couple of days. (That's not Tru I spent 2 days resurrecting, searching forums, searching the auction houses , and organizing banks) I tried EN, it wasn't difficult, so I tired EH. I seem to burning through my mana way too fast, but other than that it seems fine, I have to watch life for random spikes that can kill me, but am able to an age health and dps fine. So then I tried EE. I am defiantly ubdergeared and I am sure I am not managing my toon properly.

Lol so after all that a question. What type of warlock should I be playing? I have multiple past lives 3 wiz, 3 sorc, 3 cleric, 3 fvs, 1 bard, 1 morning lord. I have full ED in everything but the 3 in the Shiradi area (so shiradi, primal and the other ) and the one the opens shiradi (unyielding something I think*I have up to tier 2 in that)

For gear I have the lantern ring and the libram...the rest is all random stuff I could find on the auction house.

So which build should I be using and what gear should I be getting? Lol I saw the lists of gear in some of the posts, but that is all best in slot so hard to work with when you only have two pieces:-(

Thanks on advance
Sean

P.s. I have no clue how people say they don't use mana, I turn on my aura and the stances from exalted and my mana literally starts to bleed away with the maximized bursts bleeding it even faster. I am having to burn two mnemonics and at least one shrine per EH run

oh there's this healing aura in EA tree that consumes SP. don't turn that one on!

gear: you got lantern ring, that solves your radiance gear. consider a onehanded caster stick for your pact damage. make sure you have a sheltering item. if investing into Enlightened Spirit, use medium armor. Two are available in Necro 4.

You have orb, but perhaps consider also shields. Currently eldritch blast and warlock SLAs ignore ASF; note that this is probably changing with tomorrow's patch. Plan accordingly.

Builds... try various combinations of enhancements, experiment. With nerfs incoming tomorrow, optimal build is currently in a flux. Enlightened Spirit should help you with survival at the cost of lower DPS.

Some info about gear also here: http://ddowiki.com/page/Warlock_equipment

Hi,

Here are some gear suggestions for starter gear. If you are willing to run raids there are some really nice items from Defiler of the Just and other raids listed in my original post in the same thread.

The spell point drain is from Astral Vibrance. Drag Astral Vibrance from your Epic Destiny window to your hotbar and make sure it's off.

The reborn in the light epic moment has some inconsistent behavior where it leaves astral vibrance on after the 2 minute epic moment is up. Towards the end of the epic moment I always turn off Astral Vibrance right away. If you don't do this your sp can run out really quick.

I am going to include this in my build post since it is a rather confusing bug.

If you are on Sarlona I would be happy to run EE content with you to help you get through the learning curve - there is a bit of a learning curve to EE but once you get past that it won't seem so hard.

Some fairly high level items suggested here.
Let's bring up some lower level ones to help you get to that point.

For Pact damage you can do well with some of the Cannith Challenge rewards:

Great Old One: Rock Boots for acid spellpower and crits ( epic version has min level 20 )
Fey: Blasting Chimes for sonic spellpower and crits ( epic version has min level 20 )
Fiend: Cloak of Flames for fire spellpower and crits ( epic version has min level 20 )

For guaranteed end rewards in eveningstar ( can get it doing the quest on heroic normal )

Breaking the Ranks: Sage's helmet at minimum level 19 provides good light damage and crits as well as 100% fortification.
Friends in Low places: Sage's Locket at minimum level 15 provides +4 evocation DC ( best in game for several levels )
Army of Shadow: Sage's Cuffs at minimum level 15 provides force spell critical if you aren't using utterdark for some reason

A little higher up .....

Cannoneer's goggles from precious cargo to provide force spell power. ( level 24 )
Iron Mitts: from epic Three Barrel wilderness. I've grown addicted to the healing amp it provides ( level 24 )
A level 24 thunderforged weapon can net 150 spellpower to the type of your choice. You can get the ingots just by running the wilderness area. ( it's the level 26 and gasp 28 versions that require raiding )
