To the Devs,
Our beloved game is dying, you know that, we know that, you can do something about it, we can do something about it!
What about instead of nerfing classes you have just improved, without thought how those improvements will pan out on an already OP multi-classes and so people have to buy the hearts you have on sale!
Do something that encourages new players to stay and become ViPs and Vet players to teach!
For eg: Install a building in the Harbor with a noticeboard that players can post their name to, this board has four sections, people willing to guide a Newbie, Newbies needing guidance, Guilds looking for recruits, recruits looking for Guilds, install a proving ground! The Guild section is to limit advertising in general chat for Guild recruitment and usually the first thing Newbies do is look for someone who knows the game well to show them around and a good Guild to join!
The reason for this board is someone actively helping new players can claim a nice reward after he has finished helping set amount of new players, each new player gets a yummy little reward when they reach say - lvl 18!
The newbie can only post on this board if they have logged under 100 hours on their account, Vets can only post if they have a set amount of hours logged on their account!
A ratings box for the Newbie to use to rate their tutor for each session they log on the board (this is for reward scaling purposes) and a box where they can enter how may hours spent.
The tutor receives the rating on his own boxes on the board and the rating beside his name on the board averages (so newbies can see who are the better tutors) this also gives the ability to count how many newbies the tutor has helped.
Newbie receives a yummy named item upon reaching lvl 18
Tutor receives an incentive reward for each set number of newbies he has helped to learn the game, upon the proteges reaching lvl 18!
i have seen similar set ups work in other games and it's something DDO needs, especially to keep new players in the game and leveling hard, it also gives these bored Vets something to do, with a good reward at the end of it!
