I've been thinking about this, and I would like to know what the interest from the community would be in seeing an Android mobile app version of the character planner. So, my question is: Would you be interested in an Android version of the planner, and why or why not?
Don't them much at all but if there was an android version I migot dabble with it a bit

I would prefer a version that uses the browser (and I have been working on it, very slowly).
This would allow:
* Anyone to see their builds from anywhere
* have them stored in the cloud for access off your main machine
* Allow users to share builds to other users so you could easier find builds you like
* Copy other builds (if allowed) so you can just tweek it how you want.
* Allow searching for builds via google/bing
And many other benefits. Currently still working on automating the data load, similar to how EllisDee37 is doing his (pulling the builk of the data from ddowiki).

Thou a web base sounds interesting. Having done some web programming, the issues become where to host and the need for users to sign in for access. There are other issues that arise such as needing to prevent hacking of the web site and data base. The standalone program does not have that problem. Currently we are programming in C# which we may be able to move over to the android system when V5 is up and running, we are just looking to see if it is worth looking into.
As far as sharing builds I do forsee being able to export builds to a forum post, which if done right could be imported into a sql database as a backend of a website. The web site then could have the search, display, export for different builds. Just not the build engine itself.

Agree. My day job is software development for web applications and security. While none of that is a problem, it still takes time, which is always an issue. I will be hosting in Azure, hopefully, at first, just using the free usage I get for being an MSDN subscriber.

Not interested.
- I've never felt the need to plan a character yet couldn't wait to just pull up the windows based planner when I'm on the desktop or laptop.
- I'm far more interested in faster releases of the current package (i.e., don't spread yourselves out more).
- There's a hell of a lot of information to manipulate, can you make a workable user friendly small device interface? EllisDee took a different approach to planner interface that's a nice alternative but it's good because he packs a lot into each 'screen', for example the skills screen is large enough to give you the entire plan for each level at once. What would an android UI do different and better than Ron's & EllisDee's software?
Of course I'm grateful for whatever free work you and anyone else put into to planner(s). if you're very motivated by making an android version, go for it. Personally I wouldn't use it compared with the existing choices.

A couple months late to the party, but...
Yeah, I'd be interested. It might be faster than loading up the computer version, and much less window switching.
(Of course, if I was smart, I'd just export from one of the other formats into something that I could quickly load onto the phone, say maybe gdocs... but I'm not smart...)

Ooh ooh ooh! Me! I would so use this! It would give me something to do while I'm stuck on the DC metro for hours because they suck.

This would be outstanding. Especially for us players that spend quite the amount of time away from the computer.
I do a lot of theory crafting on my own, but it would be nice to have something that actually helps bring it together cohesively.
If it happens, thank you. If it doesn't? Thanks anyway!
