Okay guys between you and me, have any of you when you were not playing a forged took 3-6 levels of Wizard for palemaster for one reason of just toggling on a shroud when you are facing quest enemies where it is likely you will be neg leveled constantly? (Beholders, Undead, Casters i.e.)
Have you ever thought about doing that in a static group with one of you playing a divine healer with inflict spells prepped?
Yes there is always restore, but it does not restore your spell points.

Usually I swap on Silver Flame Talisman to avoid negs, they aren't too much of an issue until ~L11 anyways so works :)

Silver flame talisman is awesome. So is death's locket. Also, any spell absorbing item, like pale lavender iuon stones and jeweled cloaks, but beholders will quickly wear those down. Warforged and bladeforged are also naturally immune to negative levels.
As far as curing negative levels, there's restoration and greater restoration spells and scrolls. The druid spells regenerate and mass regenerate also remove several negative levels. You can also get restoration potions from turning in 1 druid commendation in Eveningstar.
