View Full Version : Can Strongholds be the ENDGAME?

World of Warcraft has garrisons and shipyards.
Now Neverwinter has Strongholds, 20 vs 20 guild battles.
Can this be a thing for DDO?
Can this be considered an "endgame"?

*check target location.... Location checked : Screenshots, Fanart, & Videos*
*check target fairness.... Location say : Fair Target*

How about : HELL NO !!

Note, I don't mind Castle/Houses/stronghold instead of Airships for guilds, but the PvP part is definitely not welcome in DDO.

By the way that's the seond mostly identical post you put on the forum on that topic in a fair target area... If you want to discuss PvP without being piled upon post stuff in the PvP subforum.

Start 4 more threads with the same, 2 are just not enough.

It's odd you assume I posted that thinking no one would disagree.
This is the Internet, son. You can't post a picture of a cute kitten without someone trolling you or calling you names.
I posted that "seond [sic] mostly identical post" on the general forums because I'd like some feedback. Maybe start some discussion on what an endgame *could* be.
As always, thanks for the reply.

I guess I thought some people who use the forums wouldn't see this post, but would see one in the general forums.
Sorry I'm wrong. Now I know everyone that uses the forums check each sub-topic and thread, so I only need to post once.
Thanks!

No one checks subforums.

my answer to this is the same as the last thread on this topic:

this isn't WoW or DDO for Dummies. They copy / steal from DDO.

Only thing DDO should copy from DDO from Dummies is their Guild Management System. That is all. Extract that and 86 the rest.

This doesn't have anything to do with the sub-forum. Maybe ask a dev to merge it with the other thread in General?

Actually, ALL of these threads need to be merged - then moved to the PVP sub-forum where they will wither away and die like all well-behaved PvP threads should and do.

I certainly hope not no form of PvP whatsoever is added beyond what we already uneededly have

That discussion had been flogged to death...

End Game should be something similar to what we had when Cap was 20 :

10ish Raids ( some of them Epic ), and numerous challenging quests ( the old Epic Quests ) with an incentive to actually run all that.
( Seal/scroll/shard/item + Greensteel + Alchemical )

If you translate that to a Cap to 30 :

10ish raids in the 26/30 Range with Epic Greensteel, and 20ish quests that have things interesting to get ( and trade for ), and a second less developed
Item creation system ( similar to Alchemical for example in complexity )... and most importantly : an incentive to actually run through that...
If there's no incentive there's no point in questing... That's what Shroud managed quite well, you could trade for all your components,
but you still had to go through Shroud a few times to get the Shards you needed.
And that's also what all the old Seal/scroll/shard quests were doing, you had to go through the chain at least once and through select quests
several times depending the item you wanted... And well they were also fun to go through... Not tedious like some of the recent quests are.
( fight mob, run to blue barrier, fight mob, run to blue barrier, ... rinse repeat )

Closing thread since there's another thread on this topic here. (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/465455-Guild-Strongholds-for-PvP-Endgame)
