Fire Savant Warlock?

i am thinking of a build using a warlock with the fiend pact and putting points into the sorcerer fire savant tree. does the fire savant tree apply to eldritch blast? and if so does anyone have any recommendations on how many levels of sorcerer would be best to take?

If you really want the fire savant line...take lvl 5 sorc to get to tier 5. But you might do better to be pure warlock.

I haven't tried it but it should apply to the pact damage, it won't apply to the base damage though. Taking sorcerer levels is also going to lower the base damage of you eldritch blast so you want make sure whatever your getting in return compensates for that.

If by endgame you mean TRing, yeah they are great at that, since they are fast to level.

If by endgame you mean going into limbo until there is something put in the game for toons to do at cap, I suppose they are just as good at that as any other build.

Pure Warlock with Tainted Scholar Capstone gives you way more spell damage on average than splashing sorcerer.
It is a total of 2d6 + 1d4 additional damage and +30% spell critical damage.

When you have a lot of spellpower, adding base damage is overall better than adding more spellpower.
For example, let's say you're a lvl 19 warlock with tainted t5 and +3d6 light damage from enlightened spirit. Taking lvl 20 and tainted capstone gives you around +12.5% damage, not counting the increased critical damage (just counting the increase of base dice damage).
And it will be consistent at all levels of spellpower.

This is to say that all the spellpower you could gain from Fire Savant just can't make up for the loss of base damage dice that you will suffer multiclassing. For example, going from 300 to 320 spellpower would just increase your damage output by 5% (and only the pact damage part).

Its the extra chance to crit I think...or am I wrong? Plus there maybe other enhancements that would make it worthwhile besides spell power...if that is all you are looking at.
