I don't know how hard this would be to implement, but it would be pretty awesome if you could add a feature to character inventory that allows us to lock an item to a particular block, so that if you use it, it returns to the particular block.

For example, if you keep scrolls of Greater Heroism in the first block of your second inventory tab, then after you use one of them, the stack of scrolls would automatically go back to the first block of your second inventory tab.

Would be a nifty change.

The current system works great...for everything except items in your hands, which includes your scrolls.

When I switch belts or boots or such, the one I'm taking off goes in the spot of the one I'm putting on, and they both go back where they came from when I switch back.

But when I switch weapons or use a scroll, they just won't stay in the last 2 pages where I keep all my other permanent gear, leaving empty spots there, and instead litter the first pages where my recently-looted stuff piles up before I sell it. It makes it harder to keep organized and be able to find things.

If this locking idea will fix the current ugly behavior for hand-held items, I'm all for it.

Ive been thinking this for years. I hate coming to my 1st tab and having all kinds of **** there. Wish stuff would stay where I put it and new items should be added to the last available spot.. and so on and so on.

The work-around I use when I have a lot of loot is to use the new inventory system and only display unlocked items. That way I don't have to find them in each inventory tab if i want to mail them, auction them or bank them.

The workaround I use is placing items that do not get equipped at the first inventory pages. So, 1st inv page has components and potions. 2nd page continues the potions. 3rd page has bags and useful items like bracelet of friends, key to the city, etc. Rest of the pages have equipment that gets equipped. First the most rarely equipped and last the swap items that get used in every quest. New items will land in one of those pages.

The workaround I use is put scrolls on a hotbar and use them from there, so I don't have to worry about where in my backpack it is.

That's the problem. Everyone knows how to put scrolls on a hotbar.

I did read it. see the part where he talks about finding things in inventory, well if its on a hotbar there is no need to look through your inventory for it, so it doesn't matter if it's on page 1 or page 6. Maybe he needs to put his weapons on a hotbar too.

As far as selling things, you should lock items in your inventory that you want to keep, so that when you go to sell they don't appear on the sell tab.

I would absolutely love for this to happen, OP. Without it, it's like we have only a partially organized inventory. Actually, I was thinking about this just recently and thought about starting a thread. How much work could it take? They obviously already have the code for sending items back to their previous inventory slots after they're unequipped (because most types of items do exactly that).

I do wish they would make this change.

Having weapons & scrolls on a hot bar does nothing to keep your inventory organized. Neither does locking things. We already do that, and it has no bearing on what we're talking about in this thread. I'm guessing you don't understand the problem, since your solutions are not at all helpful to it.

If you don't want your inventory organized, that's fine, but why are you trying to shoot down the idea for those of us that do?
