Hirelings set to Aggressive mode will now attack more reliably.

No, they will not. I should take a video of how they now act, it is quite comical. When set to Aggressive my hirelings (I used the two Owlbears to test) will run up to a mob and then stand with their noses in its face. And will pivot or move to keep that mob right at their nose. No amount of pressing the attack, trip, cleave, or great cleave buttons will active any of those abilities.

Intimidate will go onto cooldown if pressed, but since the mob is already attacking the bears who are both standing with their noses in its face there's no way to tell if it actually did anything. Since it goes onto cooldown I'll assume that it did get used.

I can use the attack key to get them to move to and attack things which are far away from them, if I follow them to keep them from leashing back to me as they have always done at a certain range. And they can still activate a lever to open a door or whatnot.

But the part about "attack more reliably" has undergone a retrograde improvement.

Is this regular, contracted hirelings?

We're aware of an issue with certain party members:

Yes, Iron Defenders, Onyx Panthers, Druid wolves, and Owlbear Defenders have decided to no longer attack things. We are working on a fix.

I used the two Owlbears to testReading is fundamental.

I tested this last night. and they did indeed seem to attack.. They only went brain dead 1 time, that was after standing in lava and dying and getting rezd. but after I put on Passive then back to aggressive.. they started working again..

I tested a mix of Gold Seal and Normal in game bought.

Reading is fundamental.

No need to be snarky...I'm sure this was his way of asking others if the problem extends beyond our perma hires. Or he could be politely asking you to test on contract hires. Or it could be his polite way to ask if you've bothered to search the forums for other posts on this issue.

So...yea reading (between the lines) is fundamental.

Reading is fundamental.

Not crying when someone tries to help you is even more so.

Yeah, also being informed of known issues is.

while you fix that owlbears, you can add an upgrade option for veteran players to upgrade their MotU pack, so we can get that panther aswell :)

...all I can suggest is that you don't use Hirelings if they cause you such an enormous work load that your enjoyment of the game suffers.

Ohhhhhh I get it! Now that a change affects YOU in a negative manner, you get to start a complaint thread on it. Let's hope that the community isn't half as dismissive of your plight as you were to many, many, many others discussing a like situation in the previous thread.

You would do well to be a bit more gracious about accepting the very help that you asked for, especially when that offer of help is coming from someone who can actually bring about change.

Great job fixing the Hirelings. Now my pet won't attack or defend. Watched my wolf stand still and get pummeled 4 times before dismissing my pet.

Yes, after almost twelve months, they seem to have fixed the problems with hirelings holding ground. But the fix did seem to mess up the pets. Hopefully the fix for pets will not take the nearly 12 months it took to correct this one hireling issue. (Finger crossed, prays to the Old Gods, etc., etc.).

You have a funny way of reading into things what you apparently want to see. I didn't see any 'offer to help', I saw a question asked which I had already answered. Which indicates to me that the person responding didn't take the few seconds needed to get the information he was asking for, which doesn't offer much hope for this offer of help you read into the question.

When I'm asked a question which is answered in my OP it's not 'snark' to point that out.

'Snark' might be to point out that when changes to hireling behavior are introduced that a decent amount of testing should be done before those changes go live. How hard could it have possibly been to actually test the changes to hireling behavior? Would it have taken an entire two or three hours time to run down a decent list of test scenarios?

And because I don't stalk Cordovan, I'm the bad guy here? His post was made an entire 60 minutes before mine, and was made in the service downtime announcement thread. Which is really poor placement for announcing that a key class feature for a couple classes managed to get broken in the latest patch.

But keep on being apologists, if you set your expectations low enough and you're bound to have them met.
