Maybe im reading something wrong but my warlock has 60 spell crit multiplyer with 30 spell crit 400 spell power. So does that mean my eldritch blast shoots base plus 400= around 450 times 60 for 2700 plus my pact at around the same for 2700 totaling over 5k per shot plus light dmg. That seems like a lot am i reading it wrong thx.

It's a percentage over the normal 100%. So when you have 60 spell crit multiplier, your spell crits do 160% of normal damage.

Yes, I agree that is a little off on the wording.

Yes, I agree that is a little off on the wording.

That is, normal damage as boosted by spell power.

You need to apply spellpower to your spells' damage, then apply the spell crit (as per Dandonk) to get the final likely numbers.

So say I have spellpower 50 for a spell that does an average of 100 points of damage. That spell therefore should do around 150 point of damage normally.

Because crits add a base of +100% damage anyway, on a crit this spell would therefore do 150+100%, or 300 damage, assuming no extra spell crit damage.

Let's say I then have another 50 spell crit which could apply to that spell. When it crits, that spell - which remember is now doing 150 points of damage due to the 50 spellpower - would now do [150 damage + 150%], or 375 damage.

I think.

Fundamentally, I tend to work on 'big spellpower and spell crit numbers go boom stuff dies' and don't worry about it beyond that. "Is this gear that randomly dropped for me better than the gear I have? Snag it" is my motto.

Oh, right, forgot to be explicit about the pre-crit part of the spell damage calculation :) Good description.

Ah so do think spell crit is worth while then on a potential melee enchanted spirit? Been thinking of trying it but spending alot on my weapon through feats and plan on using only bursts from aura and no spells.
