I've been away from DDO for a little while (last passed through briefly around Haunted Halls release - I must have been VIP at the time, because I remember doing Halls, and I don't have it now.)

I logged back in last night because I'd seen some talk of Warlocks. Browsing this subforum, they look like a class I'd be interested in. I have _almost_ enough TP left from last time to buy the class, so I thought before I chuck a bit more money in the pool, I'd check here that my impressions are correct. Those being: powerful enough to solo (which is what I usually do), fun to play (a fairly nebulous quality, I know), and a variety of interesting builds (although most of the builds I've seen tend to the Enlightened Spirit tier 5, which I can understand, because that looks like an awful lot of temp HP, the different pacts do look nifty).

I'd also be looking at picking up (some or all of) the Adventure Packs that came out in the meanwhile. (Haunted Halls, Heart of Madness, Temple of Elemental Evil). So while I'm here, I may as well ask, does anyone reading this have any strong feelings for or against those dungeons?

I am currently working on my third warlock. It is a Warlock/Paladin/Wizard. Very entertaining. I have played all three pacts and three different variances. I have to say, for me, the Warlock is a great deal of fun. Solo, no problem. Entertaining for me, no problem. I think it well worth getting.

As for the packs, I am VIP so I play them all. Haunted Halls is very entertaining as is TOEE and the Madness Chain. Whether I would actually buy them all if I needed to, not so sure. I will let others weigh in on that.

I currently have 4 warlocks at various stages of leveling and am having fun with the class. I have altitis and so I have played all the other classes so I am enjoying the "something new and different" part of the class at the moment. Warlock is one of my favorite PnP classes which helped build my interes in the class, but they really are not much like they are in PnP.

Thanks for the recommendation - Warlock purchased.

I shall hold off on the Adventure Parks until my 'lock (or 'locks) reaches the appropriate level - who knows, quest packs may go on sale in a day or two!

That should have been Adventure Packs. But I think I'll leave it as is; HHoE and ToEE look pretty big! :)
