If you have not heard, warlocks are being nerved in Update 27. Our burst are being nerf'd by 30% and our temp HP by about the same. Now it seems some have an issue with how we warlocks dish out our damage. We have been called names and berated because we can AoE trash mobs which is no different that other casters who spam BB and kite the mobs through them. Seems like a bunch of semantics to me, yet here we are. Now the DDO trinity (Barbarian, Paladin, and Bard) have long been known to be the most powerful of classes, but no one was yelling nerf them. We waited and as of last month found a class we could really have fun with.

So I ask, please post just how much damage your burst are doing both normal and critical. Nothing elaborate, just a ball park average unless you claim barbarian levels of damage, then a little verification would be nice. I'm gonna post mine based on the numbers I get off the training dummy. Off I go....

Thanks.

Oh and Devs, please nerf the Barbarian, Paladin and Bard for "balance and equality" in the game.

Edit:

I ran 10 small mob fights in The High Road (level 24 content) on EStar. I kept it to wolves, orcs and spiders. I avoided any combat with shadow creatures. My newly eTR ES Warlock is now at level 20.

My light critical ranged: 115-411
My fire critical ranged: 129-413
My force critical ranged from: 206-453

This was using blast/burst only with no aura activated. Normal damage was double digits with wide variances. Even when I was level 28 (24-hours ago), I never say critical in the four digits range unless I was fighting something very vulnerable to light/fire.

Again, don't nerf the warlock, fix the bugs.

Your hatred has caused you to miss a few builds.

The Devs have no understanding of how to balance classes. All they know how to do it to turn everything up to eleven, because 11 is better then 10.

My Blast does average amounts like all melee but not as much as my wizards AoE's!!!!!! Don't nerf the temp HP as it allows us to stay alive with the rest of the party.

Hatred, what a buzz word now days. How about my discontent with the nerf, or is any form of disagreement labeled hatred these day? I didn't ask for a few power builds, but go for it, post a few. Would seem to me then it is not the class but how missed links between classes were overlooked. Are you telling me the players are wittier than the developers?

Ok, we will go with your buzzword of discontent. makes you feel better about it, sure.

The players are always better than the devs. In every game. Get thousands of people trying all sorts of things that have played countless hours compared to a small team of devs. Who do you think wins every time?

all parts of my basic EB in chain form at level 28 ( not couting shiradi procs, summer smoke or anything else ) considered my damage is extremely variable.
to state a few things :
yes i use Utterdark
yes I use ES for the extra light damage / spell power / bursts and temp HP ( temp HP is fine by the way in epics, it should be scaled down in heroics though )

all parts of my basic chain considered it will land anywere between 500 - 10k, this depends on what part(s) of my chain crit, and how much those part(s) crit for, I have seen higher on bosses but that was with stacks of vulnerability.

It should also be noted that 10k is the ballpark of the absolute top of what I have seen my basic blast hit for, and thus it relies on EVERY aspect of my chain critting, critting very well ( and not being saved against ) - I am fey pack.

I would also like to say that this is a far end spectrum sort of thing, and most warlocks I run into that are using similar builds as mine, typically report half the numbers I just posted, which is most likely due to feat choices, and possibly past lives ( i have 3 morninglords helping me out )

To add to this discussion I did state that when they came out I thought the EB was too powerful and the entire system needed to be scale back 10 - 20%, just my thoughts though.
