One of the fun things in Come Out and Slay is recruiting a gang member as your ally, I tend to convince Witch Doctor Korba as my ally-Have a Kobold for A Team Member is Fun!! (https://erdrique.wordpress.com/2015/07/08/have-a-kobold-for-a-team-member-is-fun/)

Even though these days I can power through said quest without any trouble I still always grab the Kobold because I remember back when I first ran that quest he was simply awesome!
I don't think he's been nerfed exactly but these days I kill everything so fast I barely notice his damage.

However: I still grab him every time and forego the extra chest.
