Hiya Yall
I have glanced at the new warlock info and was thinking maybe a 8/12 split barbarian/warlock, thoughts? I have been around a while, well off and on, but have not done much past heroic. Would love some thoughts on if this would be possible with a 32pt build first life.

Thanks in advance

Should be possible just sure how viable it is

Not seeing it being that viable. At least half your eldrich bolt's damage is resistible via a save. So you kinda want your charisma as high as you can get it. Warlock doesn't seem like a class that's well suited to splashing. Too much of it's capabilities are tied into the eldrich bolt. And that requires a lot of levels to maintain effectiveness. I'm thinking pally splash might be the better melee warlock option. Not sure though.

That said, I was running elite normal without too many problems using just eldrich aura, spirit blast, and eldrich blast. You know, the two player based aoe attacks. Both of them can be meta'd, neither have an SP cost, and they were averaging 140 damage each split between light/force/sonic. I honestly kept forgetting I had spells beyond Blur and my displacement SLA.

Possible? Certainly. I would go enlightened so I could to aura damage while still wielding my weaponry. Probably how I will run my barb life.

As to people's definition of viable, people think if the build is not in the top 5% then it is trash. I don't buy into that. To me it isn't viable if it isn't fun.

My definition of viable is "Will this work on heroic elite through epic hard (at most)?" With that said, I'm not sure barbarian is a good class to mix with warlock.
