Are there any guilds or players out there that specialize or atleast enjoy helping returning players out? I've had my DDO account active for the past 3 months and hardly played at all because its one big solo fest of getting a character as far as I can until I get frustrated of trying to solo. :/ I currently play on Thelanis but if a group seems good I am more then willing to roll a toon on a new server no problem. I just don't want to be alone in purgatory lmao

Only one tip: Avoid Wayfinder like the devil avoids holy water. No groups there... Except you find a guild that plays exactly during your playing window.

My hubby and I are on Thelanis, we play most evenings and we live in Texas so central time, usually 6-9pm with a break for dinner. We are casual players, altaholics, we do not raid much (sorry) and though we do epics we seldom do anything above epic hard. Being altaholics we have a wide level range of characters so check the who list for the guild Blood Scented Axe Body Spray... nearly every character in that guild is either me or my hubby and send a tell. We're usually willing to switch characters to run with friends at whatever level they want to run.

Ask Dragon Horde to get you in. We're a friendly and casual bunch and just ask people to join you in your runs, and probably someone will. We do have some events, or activities, but we don't force anyone to play them.

First Welcome Back to both of you!
Cannot help you on T-Land - but looks like some good advice has already been posted.
Generally the best (current) way to find a guild is to PUG and talk to those who you pug with. Chances are if you are online together today - you will be online again soon. You can also gauge the guild by how the members talk about it.
Have fun storming the er.... castles!

Aelonwy I added all your toons to my friends, I'll send ya a tell when I see you on. Titus I am east coast. But I play at weird times and if I have friends I can play for hours easily. :)

The High Council in G-land is recruiting new people like crazy!
Like new new people. So we are always in chat, answering questions.
The other officers in the guild are always running raids and posting for heroic groups..
Me? I play epics living in a world of heroics so it gets lonely sometimes but its a good bunch of people.
hit up Shrkbait for invite.

Welcome!
I can't help on Thelanis, but if you decide to try Sarlona there are several things that may be of assistance.
First off, I gotta give the requisite plug for my guild. We have a mixture of new and old players and we enjoy helping new players learn the game and develop into players that help future players. We would love to have you join us. The guild name is The Wulfepack and if you find yourself on Sarlona, feel free to send me a tell to any of the characters in my sig or just look up The Wulfepack in the Who window and send a tell to anyone asking if they can get you in touch with a logged in officer.
Sarlona also has a very helpful chat channel, appropriately named Help. It is hosted by Turtle, a frequent Forum contributor, and is frequented by many very helpful players. Anyone is welcome to join by typing "/joinchannel help" in the chat box. And once in, you can ask for help of all kinds, from help with getting around a certain point in a quest, help with a certain mechanic in the game, or even help running a quest or chain.
Finally, Gingerspice (a common forums contributor as well), hosts teaching raids every week, rotating through al the Raids of the game. He posts messages in the Sarlona forum to let folks know whats coming up next and invites new players or players who are just new to raiding to join and learn how the raid works. Sadly, I am not on during the time the teaching raids are run, but several of my guild mates have joined and said how helpful they are.

Greetings and welcome back!
If you find yourself on Sarlona, please feel free to drop a line to any of my toons and I'll be happy to help you out. The guild I am in, The Unrepentant, is very new player friendly as well. There's a post in the Sarlona Guilds section with more info about us too.
A guild mate and I just rolled level 1 toons specifically to help out new players: Phantomex and Stonethief are their names. My other alts are Schir Gold (mid-teens heroic), Experimenta (epic), and Jumponin Watersfine (swim cleric because why not).
Good luck in your questing and adventure on!

FTFY, sorry couldn't resist, and welcome back. G-Land has a decent pug scene, a few guilds that actively recruit, I.E., I get a tell from a guild leader the moment I log in a new iconic:
"Hey there I noticed you aren't in a guild..."
I reply : "Gee man, give me a chance to run to a mailbox at least!"

I run late nights, only levels 20+. If you are at those levels, feel free to send a PM and I'll group with you.

I would suggest CLAW on Thelanis if you run regular hours; they have their own guild site where you can apply AFAIK.
