ALL HANDS ON DECK! We hereby invite the DDO community, throughout the world, and from ALL SERVERS of Eberron proper to our Memorial Day/Remembrance Day Ceremony this year.

DATE: Monday, May 25, 2015.

TIME: 3PM and 9PM EASTERN ---> Click to convert the time into YOUR TIMEZONE - First Event (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=Tyrs+Paladium%27s+MEMORIAL+DAY+ CEREMONY&iso=20150525T15&p1=179) Second Event (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=Tyrs+Paladium%27s+MEMORIAL+DAY+ CEREMONY&iso=20150525T21&p1=179)

WHERE: Ghallanda House Deneith's Temple of the Sovereign Host

A few things have remained a constant here in DDO since 2005. The worldwide community of gamers, daytime and nightly D&D adventuring, the camaraderie of young and old, and a commitment to welcome the armed forces community, family, friends into the fold. Turbine may have created this game, but its those of us that have taken this a step further... that come back to play in the world of Dungeons & Dragons time and time again,to share a camaraderie that's more than skin deep, that continue to make DDO a special place.

The Tyrs Paladium guild, a guild filled with many proud veterans from many nations, once again wishes to welcome all to join us to pay tribute to our defenders of freedom that have paid the ultimate price, and their families from the United States, as well as those from nations around the world. We gather solely to show appreciation and pay tribute to those who gave their lives, to allow us to awake yet another day, to hug our families, our kids, our parents, and do whatever it is we want to do.

This is the longest running, most witnessed event in DDO history, thanks to all who've attended over the years. As long as there is a demand and DDO servers, we will be there.

* If you do not already reside on Ghallanda, all you need to do is roll a fresh character on Ghallanda... contact me privately for precise instructions if necessary.

This is for our brave soldiers, and their families, from all nations. I hope to see some of you there!! /Salute

TO ACCESS EVENT VIDEOS:

Id like to review the simple process of copying in DDO and pasting links in your browser. Some have had trouble in tributes past, so I'd like to clear up all doubts.

1. Highlight the link by holding down the left button of your mouse and dragging across the link. Press CTRL C.

2. Open your browser and click where you normally type your web address. Press CTRL V.

3. Some of the videos are processed in HD. Depending on your PC however, you may only be able to handle standard definition, while DDO is open. On the bottom right of the video, you have options to play in 320p up to 1080p HD. You can go full screen, but I only advise those with really good PCs and high speed internet speed to try that! :)

Each year we focus on an a veterans organization. This year I'd like to recommend the VALOR CLINIC FOUNDATION. Its a 501(c) 3 public charity registered with the PA Dept of State. VALOR is a grassroots non profit organization focused on veterans quality of life and health care.

They run an AWESOME program called "Hope for the Homeless." They offer a multi-faceted community approach to Veterans that are homeless, which results in the Veteran acquiring a home to call their own. VALOR also provides unique peer to peer support and development programs which help pave the way to a brighter future.

Their stand downs from East Stroudsburg to Allentown PA are getting to homeless Veterans faster than the VA can. This is one of many programs popping up across the US but this one my family has begun supporting and they are really something else. Their stand downs are something anyone can contribute to, and all goes directly to the Veterans.

Here's their website (http://www.valorclinic.org) to read up on and donate if you wish.

From Vietnam, Thailand, Guam, Wake Island, Philippines, and aboard the USS F.D. Roosevelt and USS Bennington...

Wherever Bob Hope went, from the deserts of North Africa to Alaska to the jungles of Southeast Asia, he represented home. And, for an hour or so, troops were home with an old friend and comrade.

His signature shows included comedians, singers, actors and actresses, and led the way for celebrities of every kind to commit to giving their time and talent to troops and families around the world.

Hope entertained until December 1990, when he brought laughter and Christmas cheer to troops participating in Operation Desert Shield in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain on his final USO tour. In 1997, the USO successfully worked with Congress to designate Bob Hope the first honorary veteran of the U.S. armed forces.

Enjoy the brave and incredibly talented Bob Hope...

I'm looking forward to seeing some of the Ghallanda community and the greater DDO community interested in getting together for such a good cause.

As a reminder, we design our in game event as an international event, even though it falls on the American holiday, as we often share our time with those from Canada, England, Australia, Turkey, Ireland you name it.. so we tribute our protectors, family, friends and those we do not know, who fought and sacrificed their lives from ALL NATIONS.

Event times are: 3PM EDT and 9PM EDT

Figure about an hour from start to finish.

What is Memorial Day?

Perhaps the greatest definition you will ever hear by a former Sgt. Maj. of the US Army, who sadly passed after gracing us this definition. It is not to be missed and you'll never forget it and be grateful you made the effort to take a listen.

Join us tomorrow!

On Memorial Day, people go out of their way to thank veterans. This day is not about the veterans who are alive today, but for our brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, and friends foes and people you don't know who never made it home.

This Memorial Day, we want to remember and pay our respects to those that valiantly gave their lives for their nation.

In the United States, thank a gold star family this weekend for the hero in their family who gave his or her life overseas.

Very nice showing at the 3pm event. It was a pleasure to spend time with everyone.

The 9PM EDT event will contain a few different videos, and should not be missed, even if you've attended the first event!

We look forward to sharing time with ANYONE who'd like to pay tribute to their family or friends who served their country, US or other, that isnt with us any longer. Godspeed.

We had many new faces this year on the DDO side, and a great turnout for Tyrs' Neverwinter's first Memorial Day guild event.

Tyrs Paladium's traditional opening ceremony poem (which we've recited for each ceremony we've done over the years):

"It is the Soldier, not the reporter,
Who has given us Freedom of the Press.

It is the Soldier, not the poet,
Who has given us Freedom of Speech.

It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer,
Who has given us the Freedom to demonstrate.

It is the Soldier, not the lawyer,
Who has given us the right to a fair trial;

And it is the Soldier--who salutes the flag,
Who serves the flag, and
Whose coffin is draped by the flag--
Who allows the protester to burn the flag."
