Ok so I've just finished my 10th Life (Heroic TR) towards completionist. I have Monk, Paladin, and Artificer to go. My current alignment is Neutral Good and to be honest when I started out I didn't really consider alignment much. Now I need to get on with the TR effort and I've discovered the only alignment for Paladin is Lawful Good. It's the only one and guess what, you can't get an alignment change to Lawful Good in the DDO Store. Even though I'm willing to spend the TP for the change, It's not available, this is crazy.

So my years (and yes, I said years, I'm not an xp grinder) of grooming this character for Completionist are a waste of time? The only way to ever be a completionist is if you take Paladin as your very first life and is anyone really aware of that?

I'm just sick in my heart over this.

I really hope I'm missing something here and it's possible to carry on. Please advise.

Sex and Alignment can be chosen anew everytime you create a new "life" after TRing.

Yeah, what you're saying doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

If you TR, you just select LG as your alignment when you recreate your character.

If you're doing some sort of LR to TR build (like you do a LR+5 or something before you TR to change your dominant class), then if you have a class that can't be LG then you can't switch to that alignment until you get rid of the class that is restricting you.

So, if you have Bard, Barbarian, or Druid levels, you won't be able to alignment switch to LG until you get rid of those classes.

It's easy to miss the alignment change when you TR. It's under your name (which you can't change) on the far right side.

I often switch between true neutral and lawful good depending on what I'm trying to do. I like LG because the Ring of the Ancestors requires it. Otherwise I prefer neutral for stability gear.

Regardless, LG IS indeed availabale in the store. The only reason LG wouldnt be available in the store is if you are currently a class that prohibits LG alignment.

I thought this was one of those philosophical questions when I read the post name. I have completionist myself, and I by this time in a characters life, no good GM would let you have anything other than, CHAOTIC EVILLLLLLLLLLLL, I mean the horrors I have committed just for the silver flame alone!

Chaotic neutral and neutral evil would be acceptable as well... just sayin. Given DDos system, quests etc.. All characters in ddo are chaotic neutral anyway. Not like they take away your cleric/paladin abilities after running with the devils, and everyones just out for loot and xp.. self gratification.. etc. In ddo the alignment system is just window dressing anyway.

Goes back to the fact that there were likely MANY devs who didn't understand DnD. And over the course of the years its gone from a game based on DnD to a DnD flavored generic MMO. Going totally off topic but they could have easily kept lvls 1-20 actually based on DnD then did whatever they wanted for 20+ rather than gut 99% of the DnD rules in favor of whatever they could come up with.
