Kobold embarrassed...
Kobold Bob was speed dueling Kobold Fred with epic wands of wonder.... and *POOF* both rolling 20's and G-Land went down like a falling lead balloon.

double entendre - being as its a very old post (original) - or because its been repeated throughout every forum out there.

So i pay for vip to find whenever i get some free time to play the service is unavailable, is this really acceptable?
I appreciate there can be bugs and i try not to be one of the haters when things go wrong but this is starting to test me recently.
Please update and give us some sort of an eta so i don't waste anymore of my time.

But what are the odds that on the night I decide to go watch a movie instead of coming home to level is the night the server is down?

Seriously, Turbine. As a long standing player who has been VIP for years and has purchased many thousands of USD in TP over that time, this is unacceptable. The continued server down messages followed by the pat "thanks so much for your patience, the world has reopened." is becoming very, very old. Bordering on insulting. Offering people some bonus or boon for our lack of play time is not too much to ask for here.
As I said in another post, several of my VIP guild mates have abandoned DDO for other MMO experiences. Finally, after months, they decided to start a new party and try DDO again. In the midst of character generation, the server went down. That evening they went to Guild Wars. The next evening they tried again. Finished their characters, and began the Delera's chain. Their quest bugged out in the Third Soul lock. Despite multiple attempts to recover the quest and all the players reporting the bug to GM's, no resolution.
These are also adults who have been years at VIP, spending thousands on TP. You are alienating the very core players that you need to continue being a viable, fresh MMO. I know that I am very hesitant to spend anymore of my IRL money paying for Turbine Points when your continued response to this problem is "thanks for your patience" which is starting to sound more like "thanks for your money, sucker."

Could we get some answers? Why is Ghallanda going down when all the other servers are fine? How long is it going to take to fix the current issue? Will this continue to be an ongoing problem? If this is going to be an ongoing problem, can we move our characters and guilds to another server? Furthermore, this is the third time I believe Ghallanda has been down during the bonus xp week, will you extend our bonus xp for another week?
We all understand that servers have issues. As players we can be patient with these issues. At the same time, many of us have invested a lot of time and energy into a character, and a guild. We don't want to give everything up and start over on another server. If this is going to be an ongoing issue, we want out, we want to move somewhere that we can play during our regular playing hours.
For myself, I play after I get home from work, at about the same time you always patch, and that is bad enough. Now I go to the game, and see everybody else is up, except my server, again. I didn't choose this server for any reason, that's just where I ended up. Had I been on any other server, I'd be playing right now. To make this worse, I'm trying to quit smoking, otherwise, I'd smoke a cig or two, and not worry about it. Since I don't want to do that, I really want to bash some monsters for awhile. If you have ever tried to quit smoking, you can probably relate to the level of frustration I feel at this moment.
I see you opened as i was posting. Thank you very much, I'm gonna smoke some monsters for awhile....

We've been looking into stability issues on Ghallanda in recent days, and believe that this issue should now be resolved.

I really try to say nice things about all the work you guys do, but these G-Land crashes are kinda ridiculous lately.

So what exactly has been done to our server that hasn't been done to the others? Aren't all the servers supposed to have the same programming?

I would say that G-land has been consistent on the daily downtime . This thing is getting out off hand. Im hoping they can figure out the problem and resolve it the soonest.

Or just switch the server of G-land to some other world we don't play, ha! Either way.

Clearly not. Can we merge into a low population server like Orien? I'd say character transfers, but i want my guild too. Spent too many AS to leave it behind.
This is literally infuriating. I constantly get disconnected and have trouble reconnecting. It's like there's a bad instance. When I crash, it's always on a loading screen. Happens solo or in a group. Trying to log back in takes multiple attempts as there are multiple problems that occur. First hurdle are the servers themselves. Sometimes Ghallanda, or occasionally all servers show their status as down. (My connection is fine, other things are still working.) Waiting about a minute, or re-restarting the client usually clears this up.
Finally I make it back to the character selection screen. If i just click the same character on which the game crashed, it will crash again. Instead, i must use the Hall of Heroes to transfer to (hopefully) another instance to have any chance at reconnecting.
From here, i have to abandon whatever group I'm in. They are surely in progress by now, and trying to zone in the same instance that crashed me the first time always reproduces the effect. I have tried the same instance as many as 5 times, all of which produced a crash.
If i am solo, i reset the instance and I'm fine for an hour or so before I encounter this broken instance again.
I've had this happen zoning everywhere... quests, explorer zones, air ship, and general public places like house k.
Super frustrating.
