What happened to all the Paralyzers?

It's my favorite heroic weapon. They are out there just not in my favorite weapon most the time.

Is it the server population affecting a reduction in AH gear?

Well i don't recall seeing any of the low level paralyzers anymore but have seen epic ones...which is suck in epics. That prefix shouldn't even be on a high lvl random weapon, at the very least it should be improved para.

They are not removed. What happened is weapons always come with both a suffix and prefix after I think level 6 so it's very hard to find one below level 16 or so

Paralyzing is still available on the Cannith water khopesh (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Elemental_Khopesh_of_Water) (ML:12 or higher); it's also available on Cormyrian weapons (http://ddowiki.com/page/Eveningstar_Challenge_Pack), if you're willing to play the RNG Game long enough.

Paralizing and a lot of good affixes were removed a while back. Darn shame, too.

Random loot used to have the potential to be amazing.

Now it's barely worth looking at something unless it's named.

the best low-level paralyzer is Widowblight since it drains wisdom on hit as well to increase the chance that the mob will fail the will save for the paralyzed effect.

Yes, I haven't seen a low level heroic one dorp in like forever, I do have a level 12 from a few years ago, and a level 10 banishing ss.... try to find one of them in the loot table. There is the envenomed blade which drops in the lords of dust and is quite easy to get...http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Envenomed_Blade

Had this conversation with a friend last night as we were talking about our crazy legacy weapons and gear. It seems that, over time, most of our in game power has been shifted from gear, directly into the build, with the changes to prestige enhancements and the addition of epic destinies, we are much more inherently powerful than we were when we had stuff like low level paralysing, decent vorpal and w/p, etc.

Lootgen paralyzers weren't removed. Neutered, but not removed.

If they seem scarce, the levels they drop at are just past when their DCs would be effective (I generally run across them in Vale/IQ quests). YMMV, but it's vendor trash as far as I'm concerned; they don't do well on the AH.

Had this conversation with a friend last night as we were talking about our crazy legacy weapons and gear. It seems that, over time, most of our in game power has been shifted from gear, directly into the build, with the changes to prestige enhancements and the addition of epic destinies, we are much more inherently powerful than we were when we had stuff like low level paralysing, decent vorpal and w/p, etc.
The power is still in gear, just exclusively named gear now. Cannith Crafting allows you to fill in holes from 1-12'ish but even that level range has started to be dominated by named gear. With named gear mostly having a combination of 3 to 4 prefixes/suffixes + a Augment slot, it (almost always) destroys any random generated gear you can find or may have collected for that level. Every time I clear my Bank/mules I realize how far the power swing to named items has become. With the latest "Champion Week" we now gained back our Convalescent Bracers but with Augment Slots in Named format. Not sure if I am happy about this or not.

ya.. icy kit in winter can make a 16 you saved into a lvl14 min. I have some lvl14 disruption weapons made lower lvl the same way....uh where's the altar? DDO dosen't really need to remove the event traders after the events are over, I think.

Greataxes, Falchions, Kukris, Quarterstaff with Paralyzing + Everbright... yum.

I'm glad I had a chance to find them before they borked the loot during the Great Ghostbaning. Not much use in Epics, but they are a lot of fun from ~12 - 20.

Ugh, I JUST leveled my qstaff guy to 20.... What a great weapon ... I would have loved to have that in heroics.

August 2013 is when the commonality of paralyzers went away. They still exist on high level weapons and you can find them in eveningstar at the weapon broker.

I dont think the ml8 unbounded drop anymore.

My Whirlwind rocks, but Paralyzer tends to work slightly better than knockdown cause it is based on every hit vs. Critical only from 18to20 or with ICslash 15to20. The damage by Whirlwind With Gsw [w] and Falchion critical profile can rock.

Indeed haven't seen stuff like "night's grasp" since quite a while. On the other hand my crafting levels finally reach 150 as I decraft all that random loot...
